Whisky

Ah June is here. Father’s Day, birthday and wedding anniversary all within a fortnight. I’ll keep you posted how it goes. The Mrs always tries to get something either aged the same as our anniversary or bottled the year we were wed, but it’s 36 years now so it’s getting tougher and pricier for her!

I’ve suggested I’ll settle for 3x12 year olds but don’t think she was too impressed 😅

A little bit like Andrew Mountbatten Windsor at the end there.

You can get 36yo grains comparatively cheaply.

Had a dram of this Ladyburn at a tasting several months ago and remember thinking it was quite decent.

Edit - Just realised it's now out of stock

Glass of Jack Daniels 10 year old tonight it's a very ramped up JD but aged for 10 years and 48% , Has the typical banana smell to it but a lot stronger. Nice brown sugar / cinnamon taste . Long finish to it.

A MoM “ secret US” rye in the glass

Cheap enough and don’t regret it at £33 ish.

Not an expert on Rye but not as spicy as the few I’ve tried…sweeter actually
