The 43% abv on Glenmorangies limits them for me. I’d go with Edradour for reasonably priced sherried whisky.

Benromach recently released a peat smoke sherry cask which is awesome, cask strength anarl. Less than £60 a bottleWithout spending an arm and a leg I think the Glenmorangie Lasanta is hard to beat if you like a sherry cask whisky.

Totally agree about the very rare , I've got a bottle of Barry Crocket to open have you had that before?Attended a Midleton whisky tasting for the launch of the Method & Madness Cherry Wood in the UK last night, seemingly exclusive to Harvey Nichols for the time being. It's been available for a while in Ireland and the other M&M releases are widely available in the UK so it seems weird they would make this one exlusive to 1 one. Redbreast 12 cask strength was the pick of the bunch by far for me, Midleton Very Rare could be excellent if they didn't bottle it at 40%. The event was sadly quite poorly attended despite ticket sales, probably due to the coronavirus. My missus bought the Cherry Wood, I, instead picked up a Single Cask Benriach Peated Port (2005) and an English Whisky Co Pinot Noir bottling that's also exclusive to Harvey Nicks. I had the good fortune to try the latter as an 'under the counter' bottle at the shops winter wonderland tasting and it was by far the pick of the night for me.

Sounds good I've got a bottle of Redbreast 21 on the go, I've got a soft spot for the Irish stuff especially single pot still yellow spot is one of my favourites not tried the red yetI have indeed, very honeyed and the extra 6% improves it significantly. Very reminiscent of Redbreast 21yo which is no bad thing.
May I suggest an Ardbeg sir !Due to go to Mallorca cycling at Easter.....I’m currently more bothered i might miss May’s Islay trip
might open something to console myself

Got some of the buffalo trace on the go and a Jim Bean super oaky edition. Any recommendations? It'll be the 40% stuff. (still lush) The 45% stuff looks exactly the same, other than it's abv is stated as 45% obviously, and it's miles better than the already nice 40% stuff IMHO
Woodford Reserve, Maker's Mark, and Buffalo Trace's big brother, Eagle RareGot some of the buffalo trace on the go and a Jim Bean super oaky edition. Any recommendations?
It'll be opened later so I'll let you know.Woodford Reserve, Maker's Mark, and Buffalo Trace's big brother, Eagle Rare
I've tried quite a few but I'd have to say my knowledge is still limited. Haven't had many bad ones amongst those I've tried, although I'd steer clear of the Jim Beam Black. Had good reviews and I found the Double Oaked and Devils's Cut alright so I tried it but was far from impressed.
Just done my panic buying shop at Wine Chambers in Tynemouth today. No Caol Ila 12 so had to settle for the 15
Couple of bottles of Ardbeg 10 and an Uigeadail, a Lagavulin 16, a Glenfarclas 105 and one of I’ve not tried before, a cask strength Glengoyne.
That’s me sorted for the weekend then.
From memory £44.95 I think.like the Glenfarclas 105...how much did you pay for it there ?
