I don't put us in the bracket of Bournemouth, Brentford or Crystal Palace.
Add their crowds together and you just get a bit more than Sunderland's.
Why would attendances matter?

Did those clubs consider it when we were in league one?
Challenging for trophies and European qualification, beating the mags twice a year. Warmer weather with the rain happening only during the night. Cheaper cost of living, beer prices coming down etc.......I'm not asking for much really
My dream is for a food with the nutritional value of Brussels sprouts that taste of chocolate.

It’s not a great attitude it’s an expected attitude. The moment the club is happy stopping up and then downing tools will be the moment the Crown Jewels decide their future lies elsewhere. A huge end to the season for us to keep as many of the squad together into next season.
They will remain cleaming, m8.

Beating the mags away 0-3 in the league, and in the quarter final of the FA cup. Stuff Arsenal in the final, and finish 5th in the league. Not too much to ask is it?

You'd never be happy to be honest. If we ended up top 8 every season you'd want us to push for the CL. If we then were finishing top 4 every season you'd want us to challenge for the league title.
Which is the entire point, you push as hard as you can, and you never know, one year, soon, we win some sliverware. of course if we take the cup seriously this season.. well, you just need a couple of decent ties, and Wembley, may not be out of the question.

Thats not the point though.

Sadiki and Talbi were both talking about chasing a CL spot. It's great to see our players going 'no, we're not happy with 36 points, we want to get 60'.
Ive never seen sunderland players have such expectations of the team/club before. As fans its unchartered territory since the 1950's i assume!!

It lifts expectations among us all but its fantastic to have players be so ambitous in public. Feels like we've entered a new era of the club. Fingers crossed we can succeed and maybe win some silverware

Football is ups and downs, so no matter how good we get, we aren't ever going to be permanently happy. I want the club to be smart with money so that even if we do have a bad season, it's not terminal like our relegation in 2017 was.

If our recruitment keeps this standard up then no achievement is off the table imo. We are better than Spurs right now, probably equal to/slightly better than the visitors, they both won trophies last season and qualified through the Champions League group stage this season. But I don't want us to chase that dream by throwing loads of money at older, bad "asset" type of players.

I think it could knacker us next season. I think with some investment we could fly next season playing once a week.
