Tbf he was there on a mixture of merit and due to injuries. Glad he scored tonight deserved it for the way he is constantly class for little bradley.
Indeed and well said.
Also deserved it on form and the fact that he is a shining example to all players on how a model pro should be.

As much as I love Defoe, when the mags signed that blerk with no birth certificate, there was only 1 better player in his position in world football. The fat Ronaldo.

Newcastle had Michael Owen. Not sure if he was England's best striker then. Some might argue Rooney but if ever there's been an overrated player it's him. Always shits himself on big stage.

You're quoting Euro 2004 to me. That was his last decent tournament. 13 years ago!!

England's top striker :lol::lol:

He's still a good player but no chance he would have started the game today had Kane been available.

you don't even count. You have 14 fingers.

One of the worst threads this year

true - doesn't say much for you that you had to spend time to write that - does it?

Shearer is the best striker ever in the premiership, simple. But Battygoal, Ronaldo fatty- -better level again.

I don't see how quoting his achievements after, say, 2005 is valid to comparing him to Michael Owen at that point?

Owen probably was England's top striker at the time. He's still a total fuckknuckle though.

I was responding to the idea that he 'always shits himself on the big stage.'

I would say his career achievements prove he doesn't, even if he has disappointed in big tournaments for England.

If you are talking purely internationals, I see your point. But on the other hand he has also been the top scorer in qualifying on a few occasions, so there is more to it

And when is the last time they had a striker for England score ?

I know it's petty but fck it.

CLUTCH,CLUTCH,CLUTCH...went the straw
CLINK,CLINK,CLINK...CLINKERTY,CLINK,CLINK,CLINK...went the lock on adam johnsons cell door"
