Some managing of expectations will be needed on here. Money does not guarantee you anything.... anyone remember that club in the north east with the multi billionaire US owner. A painful 10 years they had when they were one of the biggest spenders in world football.
How the club is being ran will be equally as important.
Add to this and new owners are looking for a return on the investment and realistically doing a Southampton or Wolves should be the extent of our ambition. Hitting some heights but struggling to maintain it year on year. Why? Because it’s pretty difficult to keep great teams together without your best players getting picked off. Look at the Southampton team that beat us 8-0, half that team ended up at Liverpool, Man Utd or Spurs.
So your turning over players a lot, never good for maintaining a consistently good performance.
Add to this your best managers being picked off .. see Southampton again.
It’s not straight forward this money equals success malarkey.
Chelsea and Man City were both sh1te for years. In fact Chelsea had won 1 league before the cash arrived. Man City had 2. If you have cash you can keep your best players. Southampton is managed on a loser sustainability model which is why they may have some good seasons but will then flirt with relegation. Just like the Mags. If this comes off and they mean business we could be in for the happiest times of our lives.

We are sounding more like the mags with every thread. Just because we have a potential takeover from rich overlords doesn't mean they're going to throw it all over the place and we're the new PSG. I'd be sitting tight lipped until everything was signed off and transfer evidence of this was evident. We're Sunderland, shit like this doesn't happen to us. We're gonna look like mugs/mags if this doesn't pan out as you're all predicting.

Advocates "remaining tight lipped".

Ignores own advice to tell everyone else how to think.......

Dear me! 😂😂😂

You overlooking the fair play regs... you can’t just buy your way to the top now. And you forget both Newcastle and Sunderland at their peak are second choice clubs because of geography.both clubs end up with mercenary’s .
We will never get near Chelsea or Man City not unless the regulations change to create a level playing field or they remove financial constraints again.

I agree with the geographical part but not the financial part. You can get around that, City and Wolves have.

City started before the regulations bit. Wolves are not as good as Nan City and Chelsea.
I did say Wolves and Southampton should be our realistic ambition. At this stage Wolves have achieved less than Peter Reid, let’s see how consistent they are over 5-6 seasons

Can see a generation of mag fans jumping across to us. And Alan Shearer.
I can definitely see all those Mags living within the City of Sunderland especially those who live in Washy finally embracing the fact that they are Mackems. All that nonsense about how Washy is in the non-existent county of Tyne and Wear and not Sunderland can be finally set aside.

They are the "chosen few" - Mags who have been shifted out of their pit villages in Northumberland and given a second chance in life to take up residence in the great City of Sunderland with its fabulously rich football club. What's not to like about that?

Their kids will take to it nee bother and will be happy to burn their protest bed sheets get themselves a Dell laptop and a Lads' home shirt. Once Mags but soon to be Sunderland through and through just like you and me.
In terms of the timing of this announcement, we will of course get some notice. Before their last appearance (Wimbledon game) they flew in that morning in a rather impressive 3 engined intercontinental executive jet, registration N999PN (you can see it on Google).
The arrival of this (or similar) again at Usworth North International will be the sign ;)
They will need something bigger than that when they bring their 32 Billion in cash with them.
