If they were taken over by somebody like da awab man what's rown down at man shitty, then it would only be a matter of time before said awab mans rich mate saw us and thought "I'll have some of that" - Knowing our luck though a consortium of Awab men could try and take us over and Ellis would say no
Could have been ... Posted this before but I used to work for a company in Blyth and we were talking about the Arab when it was announced he was buying Man City when one of the owners came in the office and asked what we were talking about. We told her about the deal and she replied "Oh, I told him to buy Newcastle". Turned out that unbeknown to us she was a personal friend and often socialised with Mansoor when she was in our Dubai office. She later married one of his friends.

At the mags match yesterday, facebook/twitter full of mags claiming a middle east takeover. Some quick background reading shows she does have connections. But for fuck sake after the luck the jammy twats got yesterday they can't land on their feet once again! I couldn't bare to see/listen the way they would go on if something like that happened.
awab man... like a man city

George Caulkin tweeted about her being a guest of the Mags at yesterday's game and people have been putting 2 + 2 together.

Apparently she controls £28bn of investment money

fat mike wants somethig in excess of £350m according to reports

Previously tried to do a deal to buy Liverpool on behalf of investors. I would imagine this is where the interest lies.

As has been discussed on Another mag thread (...) there aren't that many sugar daddies to go round...

And I don't want one, I'll keep Ashley and mid table mediocrity as the goal.

Amanda Staveley is at today’s game - a financier with an estimated £28bn under her management & reportedly open to buying a PL club.

  1. Replying to
Staveley has previously been involved in the sale of Manchester City & an attempted bid for Liverpool.

  2. At this stage, not aware of there being any formal talks between Staveley and Nufc. But her presence here is interesting, if nothing else.
could be for liverpool or the mags... fat mike wants 350m+ how much is liverpool worth

I've always wondered what is going to happen to the Man Citys, PSG's etc when the respective owners have had enough and want to sell up. Will they be doomed from then or are they banking on a 'just as rich' investor coming in? Don't get me wrong I would be over the moon if we had serious money like these lot, but what happens further down the line?

George Caulkin, a football journalist for The Times, found her presence interesting enough to tweet about it.

"A financier with an estimated £28bn under her management & reportedly open to buying a PL club," he said.

"Staveley has previously been involved in the sale of Manchester City & an attempted bid for Liverpool," said.

I've no idea how much she's worth - nor does it matter, I guess. Caulkin made comment, and I posted on it. It'll probably come to nothing, but it's interesting. That's it.

Oh, calm down, you absolute tart.

f***ing hell - I posted something a respected journalist tweeted. It is possible to post something on Newcastle without supporting them. What's this, a really shit version of Salem's Lot? "Get him, he's a witch!"

The title was tongue in cheek.

I should image that this will come to nothing. But if it dead come off, and someone did actually massively invest in them, you'd shit your pants as much as I would and every Sunderland fan in the world would. Exactly the same as they would if it happened to us.

Say someone invested in them like Sheik Mansour did at City - you're telling me it wouldn't piss on our parade?

Don't talk bollocks.
 x

Doesn't matter, they will never be able to compete with the top six anyway.

People excited about the possibility their club could be washed in dirty money and become a billionaire's plaything.....
That would be totally different to being the plaything of billionaire Mike Ashley, who made his millions giving tummy scratches to kittens.
