Sure but not for the £380m the purveyor of tat at Sports Direct of demanding. That price would only attract mega rich buyers, surely?

I don't know the context of this dispute, or why you are potentially betting on the above situation, but that looks a far better deal for @Bagpuss
it was to be a direct bet between us, over sacking Grayson and the next manager achieving more in his first ten games, He bottled that. I then suggested the donation to the foundation and gave up to new years eve

he bottled that. He will deny it by saying he has me on ignore, another lie.

it will stay there forever. It's on toosbs thread originally about getting Grayson out.

Maybe not your eyes. Always in the shadow of their masters who built their success through the hard work of squad development, book balancing and exceptional marketing. Man U are a proper club. City are an embarrassment.

That's absolute horse shit. Any real football fan will tell you City's a proper club with proper fans. YEARS of watching their neighbours win everything, and the fans were there. As low as we are now, while United cleaned up. I don't begrudge them success at all.

United? Tourists and glory-hunters.

You missed my update. Not horse crap, it's my opinion. Yours is spasticated.

If they buy them, they either run them properly and they'll just blend with the other teams and success will be just as tough as before, Or he'll throw money at them turning them into a Citih where they'll loose all credibility.

I wouldn't actually mind the latter as I think they'd be one of the last clubs to make that mistake. I think the wheels are going to fall off the sugar daddy funding of football clubs. I Think the likes of Citih and Chelsea are going to slip into a world of shit sooner or later and would find it quite amusing if the Mags got themselves caught up in the shitstorm. Cause you know they'd be just so damn cocky about it until the shit hits the fan.

Disagree

I've posted ONE thread on Newcastle, and I'm obsessed? One?

Are you for real?

I'm a Sunderland fan. Our oldest, and biggest rival, as you may well know, is Newcastle. I posted something from a respected Times journalist that I thought was interesting. That's it.

It's a Sunderland football forum, I wouldn't have thought it was the first time that's happened, would you?

And, as a Sunderland fan, should our oldest, and biggest rival find enormous investment (massive leap at the stage, of course, but, as I said, I was being tongue in cheek with the title), then, yes, it would absolutely piss on our parade.
Of course I'm real I can touch myself and that. I'm not talking about one thread cos this isn't the real world. You reckon Newcastle proposed takeover affects Sunderland, i.e. You think it is not just raining, it's pouring. It matters not. I've said previously marra, no issue with you posting the story, it's your intimation that it affects us. We have somehow managed to find ourselves years behind them as it is, despite having a jump start on them twice previously. They are a big club, I'm surprised there has been no interested party until now. Like I say I hate the bastards but they must be ripe for a bit of investment and even with Mike Ashley, they are much better run than ourselves. That said Laura f***ing Ashley could run a club better than Short.

Laura runs a better shop than Mike though.

"Spasticated"? Where did you get that from, 1975?

United are MASSIVELY in debt - there's no book balancing. They have a huge income, but the Glazier deal is one of the shadiest - and shittiest - in sport.

Pre Glaziers, and they also spent big - no ins and out to balance books, just mainly lots of ins. No arguing with Fergie and the youth set up, but that doesn't make them The Good Life of football - they've spent plenty over the years, and especially lately. Ibra's on 350k a week - and Pogba got 3.5m for helping the deal!

I want us to ran in the black, simple as that. I'd be ashamed if we exploited sponsorship loopholes to dodge the rules to try and buy success. They've been trying to buy the Champions League for 9 years and not come close. how many 100m have they spent? Aye right credible that.

Wonder how embarrassed city fans are? Watching world class players week in week out and winning trophies must be very embarrassing

For at least the third time, the title was tongue in cheek. It probably won't happen. But IF they had massive investment - the kind City have - YES, it will of course have a huge affect on us. You're naive if you think it wouldn't.

When either club does well and the other doesn't it has a bearing. It just does.

Regardless of that, you need to own up to saying I was "errm obsessed" for posting one thread. That's bollocks.

good job we agreed early on, during this thread @safc_grindon that no offence was took

I actually thought this was a simple, harmless thread - thought I'd get few 'oh, those spawny fuckers' type comments and that's it. Kicking off all ower the place now!

It made them the most successful club in the country and one of the greatest in the world. Admittedly they've lost their way but my point was about buying success and man u where my comparison of the proper way to do because of that period. Proper achievements earned the proper way. Citeh can't even buy a CL final, and every man and his dog knows they've spent the treasury of a small of a small country failing at it. You can respect it to your hearts content, it's you're right. It's my right to think it's pathetic.

You think it won't happen but still saying it affects us so how is it now tongue in cheek. No one is even mentioning the same investment as City, except you. For the last time, I couldn't give a shit if they were get taking over, it can't rain on our soaking wet parade any more. Once you are wet you are wet and Short has us f***ing soaked. I want to see Sunderland back in the Premier league and at least competing, NUFC are irrelevant in that hope.

Just my own personal ethical opinion. Not into the idea of selling my soul or further mugging of the integrity of the game, it's had enough.

OK, City have spent loads. No argument. But you do know United have too, right?

One billion, according to this very quick google search.

I respect City's fans - WAY more than United's. I'm sure you can make a decent argument either way, if you tried. But the 'City spent, United didn't' is kind of bollocks. United spend massive too. ALL continuously successful clubs do. That's football today.

I tend to make my opinion on clubs I like* / dislike for their fans, not their finances. Because football's all money these days.

*Let's be honest, though, we dislike most clubs...

It was tongue in cheek as it was never meant to get more than a 'jammy bastards!' reply. No one knows what happens when a new owner comes in - someone rightly pointed out, other clubs have new owners and still struggled.

She does head up a 28 billion consortium, by all accounts. So they feasibly could get City levels of money. No one but me is saying that, but it is my thread, the point of which was to say 'it would be just our luck for them to score new owners when out board is awash with desperation for us to get new owners'. That's it.

You're the one that started banging on about obsession. And you're at massive pains to say how not bothered you are if they do well. Fair play to you for that - I hate the fuckers, and would prefer them to do shit. It's part of that whole 'them being rivals' thing.

But as our rivals, most fans tend to take a look at what they do. And it's more than possible to do that without being obsessed. The rivalry, while it might seem it at times, is part of the fun of the game.

Already addressed that, already acknowledged they'd lost their way and stated my point was more focused on their time with fergie where they've collected the bulk of their honors.

As I said in a previous post to a fella who didn't engage me in an aggressive manner is that it's an opinion based on my ethics.

charmed. Didn't realise that.

thanks for the education

note, no abuse

thanks but I tend to attract random abuse.

had it before from on tap. No idea why

I laughing my see the coward @Bagpuss liked it

still waiting for his accepting the charity donation challenge

he won't though, will you @Bagpuss
I wSnt being abusive, I just don't Get your point, to me it's certainly relevant to this forum if the mags get a billion dollar buy out.

Bloody hell - Man United, ethical club of the people! Total bollocks.

That total bollocks was said in a non-aggressive way, by the way. Not sure who you're engaged to either, but hope that all works out for you, good luck for the future and all that.
