Whats your choice of wine?

I thought wine might be one of those things that you start to like as you get older and your palate changes, like dark chocolate or whisky, but I'm 48 now and I still can't stand it. I'll have a glass of champagne where it would be a breach of social etiquette not to (wedding toasts etc), but I don't drink any other wine no matter what the setting or circumstances.

Lambrini isn't wine, it's pear cider (perry)
 

Cabernet Sauvignon from Maipo region of Chile at the moment. Sainsbury's and M&S both do an excellent one.

But generally any red you can knock the glass over and it doesn't spill

I really like some of his reviews.

Discovered aldi's cairanne because of him which is banging for the price. The Aldi premium cru Chablis was also recommended but for the price it should be.

Couple of misses like the Aldi cremsnt De loire but personal taste is subjective.

Aldi can be excellent for wine but they never have much stock so if something is popular then is can be hard to find.

Not sure to be honest. There are a few that I pass but I have never been in to comment.

One of my colleagues went to the place in jesmond called angels share. Apparently it's a lot of bottled all kept at the right temp and you tap your card and it pours a drink. The photos look decent enough. He said it would good.

There is also one I think in Gateshead just near the high level bridge which does wine and craft beer. Axis I think it's called? Might have been where block and bottle was? Always seems a few in when it's open.

Then on the other side of the bridge there is a place called cavain, never seems that full to me but I only ever pass on a lunchtime.
Seems to have a big selection.

Appreciate they are all Newcastle based but that's what I see on my way to work, I don't get out as much these days and there is no chance of my mates going to a wine bar if we did.

Lately I have been getting into my Spanish vermut. The Spanish place in the big market that has a great selection of them.
