Just going off that blerk I suggested, the Malbec is better for £8.50. And the Volcanic Cab Sav for £10.50 is apparently excellent. Both Cassiero Diablo.

That Campo Viejo is a good brand too imo. Used to get it all the time in Spain for peanuts.

Oh, and anything by Errazuriz is usually a safe bet.

Trying the dark red off this review. Very good compared to what I usually buy

Malbec for me, occasional Rioja or Barolo. Had some excellent Aldi Rioja as recommended on Saturday Kitchen, £7.99 & another one, again SK recommend which was lush, less than a tenner. Well worth a watch or checking out online.
 
New World Pinot Noir, ideally Oregon or Central Otago.

Failing that an old and dirty Margaux or anything filthy with forest floor, damp mushroom or barnyard notes. Had a bottle of Meerlust Rubicon 2017 the other week which was absolutely outstanding. Was bordering on being deeply offensive.
