What is the point in Trai Hume?

Same as Patterson. Mentally overrated and gets away with from criticism as a result regularly, particularly on here. Partly to do with being a local no doubt.

Half decent shot stopper in the championship but that’s it.

Never in a million years a Prem level keeper.

Never understood the hype for him ever.

Appalling in most other aspects of his game as a modern goalkeeper.
Couldn't help but think he should be doing better for the 1st one yesterday.

He’s a very good fullback. Unsurprising his form dips when he’s asked to perform other roles or given absolutely no protection by the player ahead of him
Watch the goals back and have a look at the protection he's offering his teammates.

Is he told to go walkabout or does he just do it anyway? Absolutely appalling defender.
Trai's a very talented footballer and a great lad to boot. Having said that, he hasn't been at his best for much of this season. It may be down to him being asked to fill in positions (left back, central defence) that are not naturally his best, or being asked to slot into midfield as a tactic. I noticed he somehow popped up on the left wing during the 2nd half yesterday so must admit he was probably affected by the general malaise that hit most of the team. He's not an appalling defender though. I love a tackle and he knows what one of them is.

Least of our worries, he’s not prem quality but the rest of the team, notably not giving him some extra cover doesn’t help him. Wingers have to defend as much as defenders in the modern game, all about work rates, so when you have roberts in front of you it’s always an uphill struggle if the opposition fullback overlaps their winger.

He does love a tackle - don't we all. But the fact he's having to make them in such a manner tells me something's already gone wrong. Let's look back at the tackles he missed against the mags for instance. Last ditch efforts 'cos he was already out of position and beaten.

It's a strange one. We were talking about this very thing at the match yesterday actually.
It's a bit of a paradox - 'the data' suggests he's been one of, of not the best RB in the division this season. But when you actually watch performances, he's noticeably not playing as well as he has previously.

But I guess the data is all that matters!
