It would't surprise me if he did, tbh.
He won’t. Categorically.

Most probably still owns the club
Shorts mistake was allowing people like margaret byrne and martin bain to run the club. I think he had the best of intentions for us but when you surround yourself with the wrong people its not going to end well and it didnt.
that said i liked him and would take him back gladly assuming he had learned from previous mistakes.
I agree, i just said pretty much the same thing as you but i did it in 2 lines. Its this I cant stand reading and listening to, I cant believe people still saying this...'surrounding and putting his trust and money in the wrong people'! Well guess what its his job as the custodian and owner of the club to put the right people in the right places! It was his job to do due diligence and research that the people he employed could do their jobs properly - he didn't do that and here we are in League f***ing 1! He employed a man in charge of the clubs assets (Di Fanti) that had never done the job before....I have noted 100s of points over the last couple of years on different threads why Ellis Short is the worst owner of our football club but because he has a bit money in his pocket people would still welcome him back! FFS I give up
Are you serious?and he had a change of heart, if he promised to fully back the manager, liaised with fans and reduced season tickets, would you have him back? remember he is a fan.

Provided he had learned from his mistakes, as i said in original post. The rest of it was basically what you said. You said you would gladly have him back mate, whats going through your mind to say that?

He personally wrote the debt off himself.weren't we nearly £200m in debt? we spent more that summer than short allowed in the championship and that was off the back of selling pickford. he should be disgusted with himself
