What has Speakman done to be so hated?

For me, its in part down to the decline in the quality of his signings.

Speakman has to work under a tight budget and the model set by the owners. If he had the money available he would be signing better calibre youngsters who could come straight into the team and make an impact.

It's not like he has big bucks and is just refusing to spend it. I bet given our low budget that we don't even have an adequate scouting system and instead rely on contracting data companies to find players, you really need a mix of both.

It appears we keep signing players with injury problems too which is very worrying, you are just throwing money away like you would if you were signing 30+ year olds which they refuse to do.
Did you find your Starwars wallet?

Can't really argue with that.
So that's more poor signings than good.

Hes bought a load of players that are clearly not up to it. You need to mix youth with experience. Plus we arent even close to signing anyone and havent been for the last 3 weeks
Not upto it ? We are just outside the playoffs ??? Do you think many people could take a team from league 1 to the champiship playoffs with the tiny amount of money he’s had to work with ? People are mental

I think this is because we are in the early stages of wheeler dealing, we haven't had any significant transfers really, and so are taking risks on players that have injury records so other clubs aren't valuing them too high and we can get them for cheap. If we make a few £20m+ sales and he has a bit of a war chest so to speak, I think (hope) we will move away from taking risks on players with injury problems

Left one of the biggest clubs in England a laughing stock by signing a load of sick and injured weaklings in the hope that some of them generate a profit while shoehorning Jobe Bellingham into the starting 11 because he is bigger than his famous brother.

And he’s signed nee strikers and wasted all the money.

Blatantly picks the starting 11 too.

He deserves fully all the abuse he gets for what he hasn’t done.Whats his title ? Director of football.
A more accurate descriptor would be Director of “failure “
But that's not true though is it?

Since he was appointed, we were promoted at the first time of asking, qualified for the playoffs in our first season in the Championship and aren't far off the playoffs now.

He's also dramatically increased the value of our squad based on the signings he's made. Clarke, Ballard, Hume would all demand big fees. If we add home grown academy prospects like Patterson and Neil, those 5 alone could demand well over £60-70m plus (excl. any sell on fees that are due).

I have no idea, simply because I don't know what his remit / budget is and I highly doubt anyone on here does either. Difficult to point the finger at him without any factual information.

What a load of shit to suit your agenda man ! how is ba benette michut seelt and matete bad signing we will make money if not break even on every single one of them they were signed for peanuts , they have all contributed ba and Bennete have scored winning goals. They are bedding seelt in he will get his chance he’s still played a part some of these players were signed as just squad cover ! Even Pembele has been injured signed with the future in mind, lilhadji we made profit on also and bass was backup ! The balance was favouring he’s signed more good signings so you have tossed loads in bad signing to suit your agenda

We haven’t seen enough of Rusyn,Seelt, Pembele, Mayenda, or Auchice to make a call but all have shown signs of potential.

I’d also have Ba in the good list.

Do people not realise our previous squad we didn’t have one player worth a penny to anyone no assets , it’s mental some people on here like

Yes mate, I am clearly the one with an agenda here

Your chart didnt favour you so you tossed a load of players that have contributed and started loads of games for a team chasing promotion and described them as bad signings. We wouldn’t be where we are if they were would we ????? They cost peanuts man guarenteed money back or profit that’s not a failure

How are we guaranteed a profit like?

To answer the OP, I think it's the harping on about data driven appointments when there is no data that shows Beale is a better appointment than Mowbray.

Put that lie on top of the shambles at every turn of the derby and out feeble set up and performance in it and I think people are just fed up with our season withering away through cock up and lies.

I don't hate him, but I understand why some do.
