Mortgages are a debt mate.

THe OP did actually say any debt not including a mortgage,but the mortgage is the only debt I have had,however it’s earned me quite a bit of cash,a lot of equity.

About £30k across a credit cards and loans. Given how easy you can bump them for most of it, I don't regret it.

Haven't had any debt for about ten year now, apart from the occasional interest-free one.
