Yep 4-7 would all bat 7 at best if you were picking England best possible XI(with a view to CT in Pakistan)

I still dunno if turfing our Roy and now Bairstow was the way to go. I'd also have Hain in the side.

I know your just jesting

But if they didn't pick him when everyone had COVID against Pakistan and he only had him the best List A average in history at the time.

Now we're picking players like Cox who played a grand total of 4 list As. Guys not got a hope in hell even with the third best List A average of all time.

Played more list A than Brook has outside of England.

Champions Trophy will be stokes last ODI outing if they pick him and he wants to I'd imagine, just cos of fitness.

So would be a way into that middle order for Smith ahead of 2027 World Cup. I hope Buttler is still a force come 2027 World cup albeit he'll be 37 by then.

I also hope Root is still playing both formats in 2027. Him winning an Ashes, World Cup and overtaking Tendulkar all in the same year would be some way to go out and he doesn't turn 37 till the very end of that year.
