West Indies Test Series

Ben Stokes (Durham) Captain
James Anderson (Lancashire) (First Test only)
Gus Atkinson (Surrey)
Shoaib Bashir (Somerset)
Harry Brook (Yorkshire)
Zak Crawley (Kent)
Ben Duckett (Nottinghamshire)
Dan Lawrence (Surrey)
Dillon Pennington (Nottinghamshire)
Ollie Pope (Surrey)
Matthew Potts (Durham)
Joe Root (Yorkshire)
Jamie Smith (Surrey)
Chris Woakes (Warwickshire)

I wouldn't have had Woakes in the squad, he's only played 3 games (2 T20s and 1 CC) all season

Woakes was so good in the ashes, we need him in the side after Jimmy goes in my view

Can’t have an attack of 3 kids, need some know how in there

Woakes is fit btw his father passed away sadly so I think that’s why he hasn’t featured much

I'm guessing Woakes is also there as the experienced head of the bowling attack, plus he's handy with the bat.

The problem with Woakes is that it will be a short-term answer, he won't be round for the next Ashes. The WI and SL tests are the perfect opportunity to give someone like Atkinson a run rather than throw them straight into the deep end in an away series against Pakistan or the Aussies for example

We are though, cant just have 3 inexperienced ones

we also have India at home next year which we need to win

I know they love Lawrence but I can't get away with him at test level
Wonder if they are resting wood or moving on from him

Aye it is a bit mad I guess it’s long term

I really rate leach meself so surprised

He’s not like 90 but he’s consistently 85/86 which is someit we badly need

Just can’t see a reason Bashir plays ahead of Leach at the moment. He’s had to go on loan to another county to even get some game time.

Feel the two Ollie Robinson‘s are a bit unlucky too.

Not sure how you’re taking wickets with this squad. Jimmy has barely played Woakes coming back from injury 2 novices and Bashir has been getting carted allover the park all summer.

One of Jimmy’s biggest fans but no room in sport for sentiment either he was good enough to play all summer or not at all.

Based upon the squad picked, he’s arguably our best bowler…
