West Ham

Would love to be proved otherwise but the fact they still have to play Watford, Norwich and Villa should see them get enough, although a winner takes all final day West Ham v Villa would be interesting

They used to be a similar, working class, club to us.
I don’t mind them.
they've spent terribly in the last few seasons, actually they remain similar to us!

Ive been to Upton Park once and have to say it was such a wonderful away day experience apart the West Ham’s last minute winner during the Dick Advocaat days. It’s criminal really what 5ise in charge of West Ham have done by knock8 g down that stadium which was a proper ground only to move into a soul less athletics stadium. I think it’s a huge shame I really do. Money has screwed football in many ways, but West Ham are no longer West Ham, let that sink in.

Imagine the financial problems if the tax payers hadn't given them a free stadium?

It gets worse for the tax payer if they get relegated as well - the "rent" they pay gets halved & they still dont have to pay for maintenance & stewarding, the latter may be cost roughly the same if not more than the "rent" so the London stadium could effectively be making net payments to West Ham each game they play in the championship

'All this adds to the scrutiny around a club who have top-six potential on every metric - fans, turnover, transfer spend, wages, location and stadium capacity - but have finished there just once in 34 years'.

Ring any bells?

Their old ground was absolutely f***ing shite. If you stood at the back row on the bottom tier there was a good chance you couldn't see one of the corner flags. It was in a rough area and the local station took ages to queue to get into.

Saying that, their new stadium is worse. Coming out the station and walking through the soulless shopping complex to then arrive at a bare metal and concrete bowl with no real concourse, just metal mesh and then you get into your seat which is f***ing miles away from the pitch and the lower section is massively separated from the upper sections, so you can't get chants going at the same time.

Never before has a club lost all sense of what it was like WHU since moving to the London Stadium. Upton Park was such an important part of that club and now they play in a hollow athletics ground in a part of London where no sod lives.

Give it 20 years and they’ll be building a new stadium.

They couldn't have expanded Upton Park given that it was surrounded by housing.

Moving to the Olympic Stadium has given them the opportunity to increase their attendances by around 20,000 per game, with a further increase to a capacity of over 60,000 planned.

A huge number of people live in the surrounding area and there will be even more right next to the stadium when all the ongoing housing developments are completed.

There's more chance of them buying a controlling interest in the current stadium rather than building new one, given that they have a lease on it for the best part of 100 years.

They couldn't afford to finance a new stadium even if they wanted to, as the cost of purchasing the land alone would be prohibitive.

Slimeball, unscrupulous, owners. Dour, whining, manager. Hugely over-represented in the media. Cockneys.

Struggling to see anything to like.

They've the best deal in history with that stadium. Sold the land of the old place for millions and then just rent a bigger place which is better connected for a relative pittance, all supported by the tax payer.

They’ll stay up due to the fact every other club down there is so bad. It’ll have nothing to do with Moyes but he’ll take the credit.
