We weren’t outclassed

I'm not sure how people were expecting him to pass it to Talbi like. Would have had to have eyes in the back of his head or risked a pass without knowing exactly where Talbi was.

Pretty devastating way to end a game.

We showed some good quality, some excellent fight and an admirable spirit.
We also let in four goals, and suffered numerous errors from many players.

Lots to celebrate, lots to reflect on. We are a good team that are learning. Today was a harsh lesson.

Villa away was the hardest game we had left. With Everton losing there's not much damage done. Forest and Wolves are the must wins for any Euro campaign.
Was game over a 3 1 proud of how we got level. Changes made a difference. But defence and wide midfielders let us down. Rigg played well but let himself down not tracking. Le fee was shocking out wide him and reinildo got tortured first half.

I think Rogers was the difference,so hard to pick up. Outstanding player. Also thought Maatsen was very good .
To think boro sold him for 12 million😂😂😂😂😂. Villa recruitment need a massive pat on the back signing him as he never looked great at boro but must have seen something in him.

He was a side pass from him.

Ye alright man, understand the frustration. Bit perspective in the matter though. 👍

I’ve got perspective. I know this season has been beyond our wildest dreams and I’m actually not annoyed about the result. I had no expectations going to Villa park. They’re a cracking team.

I’m annoyed at Diarra and 09 today, both should’ve done much better imo. But losing at Villa is no shame like.

I feel so sorry for the fans who have to travel back home after that result including yourself. It was emotional enough for me in my living room. Absolutely gutting but you have to keep your emotions in check. I’ve learned that much over the years.

On reflection, what a comeback and nearly nick it at the end was an incredible performance by the players.

What a game.

Mate we're on an overcrowded train hours from home , had a mint day out . Great match and almost a one for the ages. We lost, we get over it. No one here is emotionally gutted, just drinking cans and having a laugh. It's really not that bad of a result

We went in 2-1 down. At the risk of sounding like Lee Johnson, we were better between the boxes. But we created very little first half.

We found something towards the end. The character of the team has never been in question. They’ve grafted and delivered time and time again this season.

Diarra’s miss was horrific. Like it’s the simplest finish, or pass, you’ll ever see. We should be sat here in 6th.

But Diarra & 09, who are nowhere near the level required, cost us getting anything from that game.
Know fck all about football you like.

Horrific miss 🤣 🤣 🤣

Improvements on the side is presumably inevitable. I trust the recruitment.

Diarra will play every game for the rest of the season, I imagine. He's better than a lot of people are giving him credit for...
People forget the lads only 22 and first season in the Prem. I think because he's our record signing people think he was going to be a ready made player with no development required. He'll improve with experience and games under his belt. We buy potential. It's the model. Except for xhaka obviously.

I will spend the journey back from Villa Park trying to do exactly that. Hopefully by the time we get back I can work out what the fuck he was doing.
Once you have worked out "what the fuck he was doing' you can send your valuable feedback to Diarra.

I'm sure he's can't wait to hear where he's going wrong from some knacker on a message board.
We had arguably a better first half than Villa. They were better second half overall. We never gave up, scored 2 late goals when we’d been written off yet again. We could’ve won it but they did, because same as us, they never gave up.

They are a great team but we were able to score 3 against them. We made mistakes, but so do Arsenal, so do Man City. We can’t expect our lads to be perfect and make the right split second decision every time, because the top teams don’t every time either. The fact that this game could’ve been 3 points to us today shows how far we have come and should give everyone encouragement. Villa are a top 4 team, established, in Europe this year fighting for a trophy and in a Champions League qualifying place and we matched them. Anyone can pick fault, but take a step back and see how far we’ve come. The lads deserve encouragement, not some of the grief they’re getting from some fans. We’re not mags you know!
Who said we were outclassed???

Is that what you were expecting?

We scored 3 away at a top 4 side.
Not that lacking ffs.
Get some perspective.
But for last 10 mins of the game we struggled to create much, lots of overhit passes and balls into spaces where no body was anticipating them. Maybe Villa tired after their European exertions, or they lost their shape with Emri’s substitutions and we capitalised . It’s been obvious to most observers all season that our weakness is in the final third, but that’s fine, it’s something to be improved on during the summer.

It doesn’t matter if he’s Lee Camp or f***ing Levi Yashin, there shouldn’t be a bastard save to make.

Isidor demonstrated exactly what to do about 2 minutes before.

Still is. Bournemouth the only team to make a step forward this weekend. Every other team in the hunt fluffed their lines.

We’d have been right in the fight if we’d won today like.
That'll be Lev Yashin.

Who the cnting hell is Levi Yashin? Sounds like somewhopper on Love Island or something 🤣

I think the rest of football expected us to be outclassed, I was making the point that we weren’t. And no, I didn’t expect us to be outclassed. I’m proud that although we’re not the finished article we can hold our own against top teams. Our young lads have lots to learn and there’s more recruitment to come, so the future is very bright.
