There isn’t a fan base in the world as obsessed as us with 442 like

Our midfield gets absolutely ripped to shreds as it is. Be a right laugh watching us with one less in there.

There is a reason hardly anyone uses it but this place is obsessed with it. Honestly think it’s just this place has a really high average age.

Peter Reid would have played 4 central midfielders if the two wingers were out.
Think when Summerbee and Johnston were out he played a 4 man midfield something like Thirwell, Clark, Ball, McCann.

4 2 3 1 is just a fancy 4 4 2.

Even the ‘classic’ 442 was often 4-4-1-1 with a deeper forward. There were many permutations and it could be fluid.

A back 4 usually has 1 cb attacking the ball and one covering.

One of the central midfielders is usually screening the defence, 1 more attacking.

So a 442 can quite easily be 1-3-1-3-1-1

Seeing as Clarke and Roberts are out for the foreseeable .

Let's chuck hemir and rusyn up front and see what happens. On paper, as a partnership it looks perfect really.

Full backs stay back, couple of able runners on the flanks to bomb on / get back.

Balls to it, let's at least experiment and try something attacking for the remainder of the season

Kristjaan speakman is the one who picks the side and formation, substitutions etc

Think Father Ted but instead of fake hands he has a fake head
