We have massively underestimated The Championship

We haven't played Cardiff but neither Leeds nor Sheffield united were very good imo. Sheffield Utd on Saturday were little more than organised would almost certainly have been 0-0 had we been the same.

Donaldson impressed me. Tall, strong and quick with it. It was clear he had the beating of Wilson for speed from their first encounter in the opening minutes, and (unsurprisingly) JoS for the 2nd. The rest of their team didn't look that special, but organised and knew what they were doing.

We didn't compete in the air.

who underestimated it ? I said at the start its mid table at best

Here's a number of factors:

Grayson apparently knows how to deal with The Championship. So far you'd wonder considering the way we've been playing.
I would probably say that's down to the players as much as him to be fair.

Speaking of the players, we were quite optimistic when a new bunch came in - eager to make their mark on the game and on the club - good stuff.
However, what seems to have happened is that collectively as a club, from Ellis Short and Martin Bain, right down to the manager and players, is we have completely underestimated the championship.

The majority of teams currently in the Championship have at one point been in the Premier League.

Cardiff City
Leeds United
Wolves
Ipswich Town
Sheff Utd
Middlesbrough
Derby County
QPR
Sheff. Wednesday
Nottm Forest
Fulham
Hull City
Barnsley
Reading
Norwich City
Aston Villa
Sunderland
Birmingham
Bolton

These are the only ones which haven't.

Bristol City
Burton
Brentford
Preston
Millwall

It is a notoriously hard league to get out of. Some former Prem teams have fallen further than this. Blackpool, Wigan, Portsmouth etc.

I don't want soundbites about how the players are hurting, I want to see results.
We've just been relegated. That means for every club in the Championship, we're one of the teams to beat because we still have relegation hangover.
We need to come out swinging against Notts Forest tomorrow or I can see there being an absolute shitstorm from the fans against Hull next weekend

The majority of the clubs have at one point been in the Premier League , not the current teams.

There is a huge difference.

Pile of shit. We just do not have a good enough squad.

We've just underestimated football in general. See, to win matches you've got to score goals but we never bought a decent striker, and our manager didn't think it was a priority on transfer deadline day.

He knew we needed one, but he was never going to say "that tight kernt short wouldn't give me the money to buy one"

I'd love us to revet back to 4-4-2 as we have not played this system at present....Saturday was 3-5-1-1 than 4-3-2-1 and then 2-1-4-1-2 after that I gave up trying to fathom it out.

Which games, other than Saturday, have you been watching then?

We need three in the middle. Arrange it however you like - a flat three, one holding and two pushing, two holding and one pushing, it doesn't f***ing matter. But you need unbelievably fit players in the middle now to play 4-4-2, otherwise it's a scoring lottery - and one with the odds highly stacked against us, given one of strikers is James Vaughan.

It was worth a try to see if N'Dong could be like Kante at this level. But now we have the answer: he can't. Back to one up top, I'm afraid - we'll go nowhere other than League One unless we realise that.

I'm making the point that the player do not seem have any idea what system or set up we are playing:rolleyes:

Not me. I watched Burton a lot last year. It is a tough league, whatever you think about the standard
