It's crass, ignorant and embarrassing, and anyone still singing it after the player himself has asked them not to is a moron.

I'm not sure it's 'racist', though. Racism is discrimination against a person based on race. I don't think using a harmless positive stereotype is racism. A racial stereotype is not necessarily a racist one.

It's just stupid and cringeworthy, more than anything else. The defiant response to being asked to refrain is more telling about those singing it, IMO.
If people sing it after he has specifically asked them not to it no longer becomes 'a positive stereotype'. It is against him and is racist IMO.
 
It’s embarrassing and should be stopped but Amad must have changed his view or had it changed for him because he was lapping it up in front of the away fans singing it at Luton.
Probably asked by the club to disown it.
Which is OK.
