Wayne Rooney - sacked

He wil never make it as a manager in a month of Sundays. Imagine him trying to inspire and lead a team. Bet hes a laughing stock. To busy getting sackless in the local pubs

Alex Neil is gutted he has just signed up with Millwall. Plymouth would have been a great commute from 'Environs de Preston" and with Scotland being just up the road a perfect work life balance with opportunity to cement Plymouth as Devon's biggest club. I suppose he could add another dodgy departure to his C.V.

John Ruddy was on Ben Foster's podcast during the summer.

Basically said that after 2 games, as one of the senior players he went and told Rooney that the players are not suitable for the style of play he wanted to play at that moment in time. Eustace had tried to play a similar style initially but realised after going 3-0 down in 20 minutes in a friendly that they'd need to adapt it and did.

Ruddy said if they had done more work on it and had specific roles etc that it could potentially have worked, but that they didn't get enough instruction from Rooney.

He said Rooney is more of a manager than a coach, often delegates the sessions and just dips in and out.

Ruddy also cited the often heard criticism when top players go into management in that Rooney struggled to grasp that Birmingham's players couldn't do the stuff he could do with his eyes closed.

Foster's podcast is as soft ball as it gets really, so I can only imagine what the worts and all account would be like!

I'm surprised he wasn't sacked weeks ago. I can't see why, after a few sackings, some of these former players would want the hassle and stress of a job like that. I can understand having a go at it, but being crap must hammer your confidence and enjoyment.

Try Boro Wayne. Carrick might be wanting a sidekick.
