Wayne Rooney - sacked


Shame for Rooney, he'd have had loads of offers to be Santy before Christmas but Bird's Eye have gone in another direction so there's less work for Salty Dogs
 
As someone said on HYS it was a vanity appointment designed to give The Pilgrims exposure. In reality, as another said, no amount of success and fame in the Premier prepares you for the physicality of the EFL.

It’s plain sailing in the Premier League with things like world class training facilities with world class equipment and world class training methods installed into them by world class coaches who turn them into world class players with world class abilities. To say nothing of the pampered luxuries they have in their billion pound stadium in such places like the dressing room and hospitality. And the millions they are on to wear fancy shirts with big name sponsors on them in front of 50,000 fans.

But the real football is played in the EFL. Grafters to a man.

Wayne found out the hard way that big ex Premier league players do not make good managers.

Gotta be the end of the road managerial wise, can’t see anyone giving him another go. May well just hop off into a coaching role somewhere I’d guess or god forbid be on the telly as a pundit
