Very true but the thread is about Watmore not Wyke or GriggWyke and Grigg have the same problems but don't have the pace, determination or resilience.

Will Grigg has 125 senior goals . That takes a lot of determination and resilience. Wyke has 80 after not making it at Boro . He had two injuries last season and came back to play a big part . It’s easy to make sweeping statements but the reality is more complicatedWyke and Grigg have the same problems but don't have the pace, determination or resilience.
Id imagine similar to what gooch wouldI've got nowt against the lad, as he always comes across as a likeable positive person. I just can't see him scoring to many goals..
Let's see if they still have it.Will Grigg has 125 senior goals . That takes a lot of determination and resilience. Wyke has 80 after not making it at Boro . He had two injuries last season and came back to play a big part . It’s easy to make sweeping statements but the reality is more complicated
Hes on a lot more money than the best players in this league, which seems to be the top issue for the owners.Same could be said of almost any of the best players at this level last season and many fans would advocate us signing. It's league one after all. Watmores problems at this level at least are injuries, if he can overcome them he'd be a major asset.
Yep, looked dangerous last night playing in his proper striker's role rather than as a winger. Looks like he's still got some pace, and a few tricks up his sleeve now too.
Could be a big player for us this year.
He’s defo not a striker as he doesn’t have any instinct as he’s got his head down all the time. However Wyke will not score the goals we desperately need therefore I’d give Watmore a chanceHis 4 goals in 54 league games suggests to me he has never been and never will be a "proper striker".
Cue Watmore apologists
Unfortunately I agree. Pinning our hopes on him being prolific is misguided. His 4 goals in 54 league games suggests to me he has never been and never will be a "proper striker".

Although he is pacey his decision making/final ball leaves a lot to be desired
Aye because gooches decision making is classI think this stems from not having the coaching a lot of the other lads have.
MehI hope he stays, seeing the highlights he looked our most creative players. His attitude and character has never been in question, I really hope he stays and finally puts his injuries behind him.
Aye because gooches decision making is class
I do think duncans pace will help us mindBoth as bad as eachother but I think you can see it more in watmore. Gooch is just greedy and thick.
In the same way if Peter Crouch wasn’t a footballer he’d be a virginIf he wasn’t fast he’d not be a footballer.
tidiedIn the same way if Peter Crouch wasn’t tall he wouldnt be a footballer AND he’d be a virgin
That's crazy! Can't argue with the stats though. Signed in 2013 and he's played 54 games for us. Luke O'Nien played 47 last season.
