our batting line up looks fairly strong and that's without clark or cameron steel, both of who i'd rate ahead of poynter
Forgive me for not being very well informed, but what the hell happened to Steel?

Seems to have fallen off the face of the earth.

Clark isn't
Possibly! But if you are saying that the players who have been tried are not good enough would you give the best academy batsmen a go and bat him at 6? it's definitely the strongest batting line up Durham have had for a few seasons.
Just think it's easy to say none are good enough without giving a possible solution.

clark has had a season or two worth of very good white ball performances so may stick as a specialist. steel does seem to have just fell off after having one really good season. poynter has never looked decent imo but is a wicket keeper so as a result sticks around as a sub for eckers.

far more to prove for burnham who hasn't shown anywhere near as much as any of those three all of whom are worthless according to some so it's a big season for a few like
