VARguments

All VAR has done is create more arguments and more accusations of corruption.

Prior to VAR fans by and large accepted that referees couldn't see everything, had to make a quick call, and mistakes would be made.

The argument for VAR was to eliminate mistakes, and yet continually it throws up baffling decisions. But because we expected it to clear things up and it hasn't, it adds nothing to the game.

But so much has been invested in it, its going nowhere. Just need to hope that it can be somehow simplified and made to work.

It's not working as it is

Sunderland would, however, benefit massively.
Yesterday as an example would have given us a goal, a penalty and a sending off for the assault on Pritch.
Yet we hardly ever seem to see the opposition dumbfounded by the officiating.

Should have just goal line tech, nothing else.
Offsides maybes? I think decisions here have improved and making the line thicker a season or two back was an improvement.

We would have had a 1-0 lead at HT if we had VAR.

It’s added nothing for fouls, handballs, penalties and fouls on the keeper except dilute responsibility which has allowed for the easier decision to be selected.

If you reckoned fans by and large accepted referees mistakes , you must have a short memory . Look at yesterday!

For me there is nowt wrong with VAR. It's the fact that it is still open to interpretation that is the problem.
Which is the exact thing it was supposed to get rid of.

Impossible to get beat fair and Square nowadays. 24hr media and the need to cause outrage and fill airtime constantly looking to push blame about mainly into officials who are the easy targets
Ho

How was varv suppose to get rid of interpretation?

At the end of the day , a lot of decisions are down to opinions and as we are not all robots , those opinions will differ .

By making things clear cut.
That's the way it was promoted
