It would have been even worse in the time of Roker. Imagine the Fulwell going beserk then it getting chalked off a minute later after all the players are in position to kick off?
They think they can get away with it more now because football is sterile now - most just stand up and clap when we score now.

You can’t just have “clear and obvious errors” though.

Imagine if Luton conceded and it was ruled out by VAR because it was clear and obvious. We conceded and it wasnt ruled out because it wasn’t clear and obvious, although it was offside. Luton go up automatically, we miss out by a goal and then lose in the play-offs.

Much better that the decision is correct than quick.

If they want the goal to stand, don’t be offside.

What if Luton had a goal that was initially disallowed given because the official got the offside wrong, even though there was a foul by the Luton player in the build up which got missed and then ignored?

Surely someone has invented some software that can laser map the pitch and work out if it’s offside or not.

I agree it’s not perfect and that it does take a bit out of the enjoyment in the teething phase, but as it gets used more it’ll get better and with so much riding on decisions nowadays things have to be right, not quick.

This, lasers/ cameras or whatever that automatically latches onto the last man and follows, that can give an instant alert like the goal line does, means the linesmen could be done away with
I don’t see the need for var other than an off the ball incident like lashing out, elbow etc

Why isn't every corner investigated for holding if it's so fkn great ? It's one of the biggest problems in football and isn't being adequately addressed.

Vests can be stretched and pulled.

They really need trackers embedded in the player at various points of the body. Head (front, top and back as a minimum), feet (toe and heel as a minimum), knee, backside (both cheeks).
