VARguments

I like VAR, the more it’s used

I won’t be persuaded otherwise. The problem is English officials and their incompetence, which was shown clearly when none were deemed qualified to ref at the last World Cup

It doesn’t though because when a goal goes in, you celebrate regardless.

You have to think if that was us who conceded, would you be happy for it to stand even though it’s offside, because it would’ve taken 30 seconds to check?

Football is about passion and emotion of the fans. It's the single biggest aspect of the game.

Don’t know if that’s worked but I clearly do. I’d rather goals we scored and conceded stood because they were legal, than because they were awarded quickly.

Well I wouldn't.

For those who hate it, would you have not preferred it for the Luton penalty?

I don't want it at all. Goal-line technology yes, but what's the point of VAR if half the people still think they got it wrong?

But that’s where you set the boundaries of what constitutes a “challenge”

I’d have it for stuff that is absolute anyway, goal line technology and offsides. You can measure that, technically instantly.

Just cos it’s not instant now, doesn’t mean it couldn’t be

If it's not instant don't use it?

Surely someone has invented some software that can laser map the pitch and work out if it’s offside or not.

I agree it’s not perfect and that it does take a bit out of the enjoyment in the teething phase, but as it gets used more it’ll get better and with so much riding on decisions nowadays things have to be right, not quick.

Shearer can fuck off narl. Who the fucks vaghorn anarl.

Why, it was the correct decision.

You'll be stopping the game after every goal if it's being used for decisions where there's millimeters in it. That was never the point of VAR and not what it should be used for.
