Can anyone tell me if it's true that fishermen put maggots in their mouths in order to warm them up?

Awaiting a reply with baited breath...

Apparently, there's two types of maggots: one just eats the necrotic flesh and stops when it gets to the healthy stuff; the other eats healthy flesh too.

Divvint use the wrong ones.

Larval therapy is still a thing. They use specially bred maggots to eat you.

I think I will stick with Germolene.

Cheap way of breeding your own here.
Just think more room in your rucksack whilst you take a big maggot off your arm and place it on your size 18.

Also goes to prove that when something natural works, medical science doesn't reject it just because it wasn't created in a lab.

A Dutch mate recently lost 2 toes to gangrene/diabetes. They sent the maggots in to clean up afterwards and apparently they did a great job.

They inject them into the blood and the maggots swim along the blood vessels to the infected site and eat the infection from within producing penicillin as a by-product...probably.
