Using maggots to clean wounds

Larval therapy is still a thing. They use specially bred maggots to eat you.

I think I will stick with Germolene.
Old science teacher used to tell us stories about that when he was in the forces, also used ants to keep a cut closed when stitches or superglue wasn't available

Aye, but half the folk on here would be too squeamish to twist the ants' heads off even if it was to stop themselves from bleeding to death.

A Dutch mate recently lost 2 toes to gangrene/diabetes. They sent the maggots in to clean up afterwards and apparently they did a great job.

Best off leaving it to the professionals. Putting germolene on an open sloughy wound where maggots would be used is a really bad idea.
