Using a bank card abroad

Looking at getting a Starling account for using it abroad and the savings account is better than I currently have.

Are there any other accounts you can recommend? I currently use a Halifax charity card.

I use a Halifax clarity credit card when abroad, bank rate is applied not the tourist rate.

Any of the digital banks will be good to be fair, Monzo, Revolut, Starling, Chase etc. Might get better offers with certain ones but for using abroad they’ll all do the job

T&C's have changed for Chase.
You have to be paying in £1500 per month now to get the 1%.

For the OP - i use Chase and Starling and they are spot on.

Simple to set up, all online, no paperwork.

Monzo, Revolut, Starling, they all do the job. I find the Monzo app the easiest to use and look back over the transaction history, separate money into pots etc. but even then it's not that the others are particularly hard, just Monzo seems easier.

Always pay in the local currency. The conversion rate is almost always going to be better at your online banks rather than the overseas merchant/ATM
