Turning your back on football?

I watch it all. Strangely calms down the Sunday anxiety having Martin Tyler waffling on in the background.
I only have it on for background noise
The last few seasons though I have quite enjoyed the Europa league and seeing the likes of Sparta Prague play some decent stuff

I have no interest in the Premier League for those very reasons, but I still quite enjoy all other football although I don't watch nearly as much as I used to, possibly due to the over-hyped saturation coverage.

And, presumably, the Saudi one when that comes around (it won't be long, as Qatar has paved the way with brown envelopes).

Yes we that's what we I'm afraid of.

I just hope that this year, every stadium is full of Kashoggi banners every time N'cassel play; we have to, as a society, shame these bastards out of existence.

I was a season ticket holder from the Peter Reid days through to Keane getting us promoted and only seen about 6 games since. Never watch it on TV. It's impossible to completely turn your back on it when you still live in the north east though as it is the be all for a lot of people.

What I have noticed though is that I have a lot less conversations about football these days. I think generally people are less invested in it these days.

.. Brother in laws farther did .. Started going to Sunderland games as there was always trouble at Newcastle games. Long time ago mind ..

Steve Howey did as well. And that Beefy lad with NUFC tattooed all over his fat gut. John Hall as well. All lads fans who switched to that lot.

Now's the time to support SAFC more than ever, not turn your back on them.

Well said. I'll be first to admit my interest in football has nosedived these past few years to the point where 2 years ago I didn't renew my season card which would have been unthinkable at one time. However I'm going to make an extra effort to get along to games this season. The club needs us all to pull together more than ever.

I lost interest in football years ago. I still love going to a match but I've very little interest beyond Sunderland these days. I think it's an age thing. People have complained about over commercialisation since the game turned pro. It's perfectly natural for your priorities to shift as you get older.

It's why I actually worry for some of my mag friends at the moment. Yeah, if you're 10 the possibility of playing fantasy football must be the most exciting and mind blowing thing in the world. You know no better. If you're 41 and suddenly find yourself becoming an apologist for 9/11 then you are your significant other have clearly been doing it wrong all these years. There's no other logical explanation.

Still watch us every game, but the rest of football I can absolutely take or leave. Only watch a Premier league game if there's absolutely nowt else to do, and I can't put myself through the International group games either. It's background noise in the pub nowadays and nowt else, and to be honest I don't even miss it.

I watch all our games , I couldn’t concentrate on anything else if we were playing. I still watch PL games , especially mag games , they usually get beat. I watch as much ka Liga as I can get , have La Liga TV channel . I rarely watch internationals only to finals , hate these int’ breaks , would rather watch a national league game on BT than a WC qualifier. Am already desperate for spurs to stomp them twats at the weekend.
