Tsunami alert

Was in Valparaiso in the 60s and the Mate said there's been an earthquake up in Alaska, we'll get the tidal wave down here in 12 hours or so. Bollocks we apprentices thought as we watched for a massive creamy topped wave to come along. He was right though, it wasn't as we hoped for but when it came the water level in the harbour rose by several feet and then subsided again.

It’s this type of informative journalism that should be promoted more.....

Waves just two metres high (taller than the average 1.75 metre tall British man) could overpower anyone standing on a beach and flood inlets along the south coast, wherever sea walls are not high enough.

Who knew the average man was 1.75 metres tall?
f***ing short arses!

I like how the wave is coming from upstream, which means the Tsunami must have already passed straight over all of Hampshire/Sussex, Surrey and Sarf Landan to reach W1.

Some very remote places there not sure how everyone will get to know? I know they have sirens etc but people like to live in solitude in Alaska etc. Hope they are somehow made aware before any danger comes
