Of course we can. By developing the technologies to resolve the issues it can then be transferred to developing countries at ever reducing costs -see solar as an example. The West already is. We cannot reduce it enough to make a difference
I can guarantee that this man will never be interviewed by a major UK news broadcaster because he goes against the grain.
Solar has been a farce so far. Seems hydro is the best renewable, but then not everyone can generate it. Wind seems better than solar tooOf course we can. Quick cut'n'paste from wiki:I watched a programme in the states a while back about this millionaire bloke and his wife who went to Antarctic (can't remember exactly where but just saying Antarctic) and they done an experiment where they drilled a whole through the Ice and took sample's and they found evidence of trees been growing in the Antarctic.
Love it how people mock the opinion of somebody who is much educated than themselves because they don't agree with it mind.
That's why the world if fucked, IMO.
Nowt to do with corporate greed then?

Fair point, that would at least be a motivation, it's still a daft notion. If I were to play Devil's Advocate - governments like to control and tax their populations - this is a golden goose in that respect.
The painful decision is to roll back on the tech, live simpler lives and use less resources. But everyone wants a high standard of living, flying cars, foreign holidays etc. funny thing is, the UK has many wonderful holiday spots, but people don’t appreciate what we have
Nope.
If people grouped together we'd get change.
Sniping on the internet, laughing at alternative points of view, believing your opinion is morally superior than that of somebody else is the reason why we achieve nothing.
However, there is evidence that releasing pollutants that high in the atmosphere multiplies the damage.Air travel accounts for 5% of greenhouse emissions - it's not a massive offender in the grand scheme.
All these things add up tho. We only have control of ourselves, after all. How many folk who jet off to Spain all the time have visited the Lake District or the Cairngorms?Air travel accounts for 5% of greenhouse emissions - it's not a massive offender in the grand scheme.

Future generations will look back at this period in disgust. We know there has been cataclysmic damage done to the planet by us already. We know we need to change massively to prevent it from being even worse. What do we do? Practically nothing. Climate change should be the most important focus of every single government in the world and we should be in a state of emergency trying to lessen the damage to the planet. But instead we discuss non issues like Brexit or Trumps wall. Even worse we fund nuclear weapons and spend billions on something that we could never use. In 30 years time eating meat, flying and using petrol cars will be seen as crazy hedonism from a previous unfathomable era. We will be seen as the people who continued to party as the house literally burned down around us. As Bill Hicks said, humanity is a virus with shoes.
