Triantis Impressing In Midfield

And by the same token after one game in midfield (not even 90 mins as he was taken off on 81 mins), where it appears he made himself available rather than dictated play or got the win for his team. people in this thread are suggesting he needs to start/play here in midfield, that he's going to be a top player, asking what we do in training (because he's played the grand total of 81 mins in midfield), said he's quicker than Dan Neil and suggesting that anyone questioning him was wrong to do so.

What were the expectations on him in that game really, what did he actually do to warrant such praise? The reality is he's been praised in a game for being available and being comfortable on the ball, when there's absolutely zero expectation on him to do anything more and he's been that good recently that he's also found himself on the bench there.

He's come from such a low level and low fee that there shouldn't really be any expectation on him here, but it's just as mental that people in this thread are bigging him up.
I can’t help but think you’ve taken some of the comments on this thread a bit to seriously.

On that performance imho we have better midfield prospects playing in the U18 team, he did look very slow or very unfit as I’ve said made Dan Neil look like Usain Bolt

By the same token he was dropped after one game (a win) on his full home debut. For a makeshift centre half that has continually been at fault for opposition goals.

I take it Mayenda is on the bench again

He is. Two sub appearances so far. It's an odd situation with him. If he was an 18 year old prospect from our academy and was failing there, we'd think it was experience for him. As it is, he's one of a quartet of underachieving strikers we signed expecting them to be first team ready. Admittedly, he's shown more promise than Burstow and Hemir even in his brief appearances for us.

Good that he's away from the mess going on here. Should be a positive going into the new season if he's fit and a different option in midfield. Unless we have to sell him to fund the L1 promotion push.
