He should be but its slightly complicated by England probably wanting the option to play with 2 seamers, 2 spinners and therefore a batsman that can bowl pretty well. It might mean they look to Stokes or Bopara (hope not) for that reason.

Unfortunately you are right which would be a shame. Taylor bowls a bit of leg spin but don't think it's as useful or advanced as the overs you could get from Bopara.
 
Great batsman though. What shame his health stopped him being part of the unstoppable English Test machine.

McGrath only missed 2 of the tests in 2005. And it was the attack that still had Warne, Lee and an albeit on the slide Gillespie.

Have you not always maintained that out and out fast bowlers "go for more runs because the ball comes off the bat quicker and to the boundary faster"?

indeed it does but the likes of Ambrose and Donald didnt go at 40 runs a piece

refer to my first post ' trescos technique wouldnt have stood up to the bowlings attacks of the 90s'

Lee is no more than a decent test bowler

Possibly not, his lack of footwork could have cost him against the very best bowlers. And while he scores stacks of runs at Taunton he is a lot more than a flat track bully.
