just in case he's not-
don't fill up at the motorway services unless you're buckled with money, there's a tesco off the north circular near wembley and a morrisons just off the m18 junction 1.
traffic should be ok till the north circular then bedlam and that's before trying to get parked.
don't follow a national express that says wembley on it try not to follow it, they're just a sponsor.
if the op's being serious he should perhaps get the bus.

I did Wycombe and back yesterday, it's a fair drive.

so did we, filled up before we left and still had a bit fuel left when we got back.

@ShieldsBlackCat2015 I go down that way regularly. There is a services at Newport Pagnell if you’re worried but I reckon a full tank will get you down and back to about Wetherby.

I wouldn’t follow a coach in case it breaks down or something.

Give yourself 6 hours and you should be fine.

Might be worth getting to somewhere like Milton Keynes and getting the train from there. Check the trains though as I think MK is via Euston.

To those who are driving down what are everyone's plans (when do you plan on leaving etc) and how do you intend to manage fuel consumption? The last bit I know may sound daft but it is important. I don't want to run out just short of Newport Pagnell.

I am driving down and so far my only plan is to (stupid and perhaps desperate I know) use a coach as a sort of pacemaker. If I keep track of it I know I will get to Wembley in time. I have no idea what time I should be leaving or how many fuel stops I need.

i know of a wagon driver that was going to corby. he set off and saw another wagon that had corby written on the back, unfortunately for him corby was the manufacturers name of the trailer.
