Travelling by Car to Wembley

I’ve literally told you how I intend to manage a journey in a car. If you don’t like that, that’s not my fault.
No no no. If he doesn’t understand the concept of road maps etc he is beyond help. Unless he’s driving down on a push bike with petrol back up I imagine he has to have a fuel stop somewhere regardless. f***ing hell the attention some people Seek really does blow my f***ing mind.

To those who are driving down what are everyone's plans (when do you plan on leaving etc) and how do you intend to manage fuel consumption? The last bit I know may sound daft but it is important. I don't want to run out just short of Newport Pagnell.

I am driving down and so far my only plan is to (stupid and perhaps desperate I know) use a coach as a sort of pacemaker. If I keep track of it I know I will get to Wembley in time. I have no idea what time I should be leaving or how many fuel stops I need.

Allow 7 hours and you will get there on time have time for lunch and drink and a walk around and enjoy build up and allow for any unforeseen traffic.
Add an additional hour if your worried about traffic and parking ... and you might leave 9 hours before game but no sooner.
To save time park up at a train station on the Watford to Wembley line

Three hour drive for me, most likely down the A1. Quick stop around Cambridge perhaps, park somewhere around Edgware or Stanmore and take the tube. Fill up with petrol in London.

Plans are subject to change.

Traveling down on Saturday afternoon (I've got to attend the grand bairns birthday party first) fingers crossed it should only take about 4 hours depending on the traffic.

Why would you need to fill up straight away, if you fill to the brim, should have at least a quarter of tank of fuel when you get to wembley.

Tank of fuel 500+ with a light right boot, 274.1 miles approx journey and take bait, crisps and sweets with a flask as well.

There will be loads of cars travelling with scarfs out of the windows, all part of the experience, just enjoy and keep on the yellow brick road!

Are you stupid mods? Please delete this thread. And whilst your at it ban all those idiots who couldn't take this seriously and chose to bombard me with this shite.

All I ask is what everyone's plans are who intend to drive down and I get this abuse. Typicial SMB. Typical Sunderland supporters. Typical Mackems. Typical North East people. Friendly? Do me a favour!!

Something like this would do - 1:40 in.

I actually gave some good advice and answered your questions seriously if you look back. Not sure what else you were looking for.

Why not just get the coach then? Wouldnt make your trip any longer and would remove the stress you seem to have of driving that far

Hooray! There is intelligent life on planet SMB!! The first and only post that actually takes the point of my thread seriously.

FFS really man??? You're basically asking people to tell you what time to set off how much fuel to put in and where to stop for more fuel. The roads are full of idiots and don't need another adding to the problem. Take the train and leave driving to the responsible adults .
