Too soon for Henderson to come back?

I think you’re entirely missing the point.

There is an equivalence for the reasons for criticism of Henderson and NUFC. The reasons are the same. Both sold themselves for the riches of Saudi Arabia. Both entities had made themselves allies of particular causes (Henderson LGBT and NUFC fans opponents of nefarious business practices) and then sold out with the whiff of oil money.

SAFC fans on here criticised Henderson for his decision to go there in the same way they criticised NUFC. If he returns and defences are being provided, it’s quite obviously hypocritical and more or less exactly what Mags do with the whataboutery and distraction.
Its not though is it.

Henderson went to Saudi. Newcastle are Saudi simple as that

It isn’t. Newcastle aren’t employed or funded they’re entirely owned by a state. Henderson isn’t owned by a state. I’m not even defending him going there, was stupid as hell, but to compare a player going to a club as an employee to a takeover of an entire institution and being ran and owned by a state is farcical
You can't question him mate. Don't you know he's judge, Jury and executioner

Aka “I’ve gone so far down the rabbit hole (rightly) slating Newcastle that even if someone has merely set foot in Saudi I will oppose them to prove I’m not just bothered about it cause it’s Newcastle”

Anyone who thinks Henderson joining Sunderland is as morally repugnant as being owned by Saudi despots honestly lacks any critical thinking.

I sometimes wonder if footballers support good causes to enhance their image, rather than because they give a shit.

The vast majority of things celebrities and businesses do they don't give a toss about.

The same as nonsense tweets that come out at the of the end of the season or after matches blabbering on about 'the fans'. They don't give a toss really.

All done by their PR team hence stuff like this - - happens.

I'd be certain that message hasn't come from Anichebe.

Probably best to avoid intellectual superiority when either deliberately misrepresenting arguments or not understanding them.

Mental that anyone would think it is. It was poor from him but it’s not even remotely close to the same thing.
It’s a good way of exposing those who are only obsessed with it because it’s Newcastle and those who understand the real reasons why it’s terrible for football.

I’m claiming zero intellectual superiority, merely stating facts. As they are not the same. There are similar traits. But they aren’t in any way shape or form the same.

You’d literally have to ban any player who’d received money from Saudi or any state owned morally questionable club under your standard

What is my standard as you understand it?

He is still a good player, not england class anymore but still better than most at our current level.
But our current level is about the same as the Eredivisie. The championship is light years ahead of the Saudi Pro League, they have a few big names but the squads and league are mainly made up of total shite. He’s struggled at both for the last year.

If Still is getting the job, I very much doubt he’d want Henderson. The reality is, Henderson would probably command more respect and would be a threat from the start

As it stands (sent some quick texts), JH would love to come home, but won’t entertain working with KS because of how he handled things before. Unless something changes (like KS going to France) it won’t happen. 😔 If anything does change though and I’m told, I’ll update this thread, but not holding my breath.
