Too soon for Henderson to come back?

Let’s face it, if it was Shef Wed taken over by the Saudis and Jordan had done what he did, nobody would have a 2nd thought about taking him back.

He made a mistake, but has plenty of credit in the bank. Get him in, he’d be perfect.

And people comparing him to Leadbetter… 😂😂😂

The lad moved on to play for Liverpool, the grass absolutely was greener and these players know it without him telling them.
Absolutely greener, but that’s the problem. We need to somehow close the gap so it’s not as blatantly obvious that the grass is greener. To do that we need better people in charge of the club.

Still not an equivalence in any way shape or form.

Just a matter of months ago the vast majority of people were (rightly) calling out his decision to take the cash from a state owned Saudi club. The equivalences were made to NUFC. If he returns to Sunderland, and defences are put forward for Henderson, the moral high ground is ceded.

And seemingly, it’s starting prior to there even being substance to the story of his return.

Would’ve snapped your hand off before he went to Saudi. Now I don’t care whether he signs or not. I’ve got no doubt he’d be a great head around the dressing room and drive the young lads on really well, in fact it makes sense in every aspect, however I just don’t like what he’s done with the Saudi’s.

He won the league and the European Cup man.. Why would he have stayed here?
Unfortunately we have a history of selling our best players and I’m saying we need to find a way to stop it. You could tell he was a great player straight away. He would still do a good job for us now from a purely footballing point of view. The footballing knowledge he would bring would be brilliant for the young lads. I just don’t think he is the example we should be setting. Look at him, you can go and play for Liverpool because it’s the only chance you have of winning anything. It gives us no hope. Imagine if we had built a team around Todd, Watson, tuert and Co instead of cashing in at the first opportunity. I want to see us win the fa cup before I die and I just think we have never been further away from it.

What do you mean stop the rot. There’s not a single club in English football that isn’t a “selling club”
Maybe city? But if Real Madrid come calling then yes you are probably right. However I’m not gunning for a champions league. I don’t think even clough and Taylor could pull off what they did in 79 and 80 now.
