Tommy Watson ( ...off to Brighton)

There’s a couple on here mate posting that his salary with Brighton will be north of £30k a week. Surely you wouldn’t pay that sort of wage to an 18 year old kid who has only played 20 games?
No chance whatsoever it’s that, anyone can argue against that but 30k plus is for the top 25%. Kids of 18 will be on 12-15k.

Watson is nowhere near ready for the PL imo. A good talent with a potentially bright future but I personally think he won’t make it. He believes his own press at too young an age and that will be his downfall. I’ll watch with interest though.

I'm sure it was us first mind.

Do what everyone else in football does and keep it under wraps until the summer. I'm sure Brighton would have kept quiet about it if the club had said.
Harte would have had the story ready to send around I think.
It's such a shame under these owners our young fans will never get to have heroes because they get sold ASAP. We aren't even getting good fees for our talent because these owners will take anything to prevent them putting their own money on to run the club on. Of this 10m they'll put 500k into replacing him.

Got to get rid of these owners asap.
April fools was yesterday.

Legs like a lemon another failure

Who else have we sold as soon as possible

Great city Brighton, well it was between 1995-2005 when I left as it had become fully "Gentrified" and only the wealthy could afford to enjoy the place. them and the students. Everyone else was wage-slaves, or Homeless.

Anyone currently living there?
Don’t live there but a bit of a shithole really….

Watson shouldn’t be playing now unless we have no other options.

His going i presume will be the first of many.

Apparently it's the model we are following, nurture a good player and sell him... so the owners do not have to dip their hands in their pockets much.

From the Accounts, I think we have a loan of some £8m, against the clubs assets to cover losses to date.

Short, iirc, wrote off some £100m +, not this guy!
As a club we've lost over £20M over the past 3 years. Some of our fans are clueless.

I live there. Great place but not cheap. I don't think Watson will be too troubled by the price of a pint.

Pining for the days of Short FFS

You do realise that Ellis Short almost destroyed the club right?
Basically Short ran a very poor ship and eventually pulled most of the funding which combined with employing clowns like Moyes, Grayson and Coleman resulted in 2 relegations.

After he'd made a complete balls up of everything he generously left us debt free.

Hardly a glowing way to run a club.
