He'll not be going full tilt for a club he no longer has a future at.

It's more plausible that Brighton asked for his game time to be restricted as part of the deal, considering he's just come back from a long term I jury and they'll want to protect their 10m investment.

Surely if you don't play at full tilt you are more likely to get injured, well if he was trying to leave last summer well he looked at full tilt when people were praising him after sheffield and stoke

It's not that he'll deliberately down tools, but a lot of football is in the mind. Someone plays a through ball, it's close between him and the defender, he worries that if he gets there he might get caught and get an injury. It won't impress his new employers if he turns up with a bad injury, it won't help him settle in and try to get as near to the side as possible. In the back of his mind, will he really want it? Whereas another lad knows if we go up he gets a pay rise, can compete against the best and will do whatever it takes to win. It's not that many think he'll deliberately not give a fuck, but elite level sport (which I'd class even the championship as) is about small margins and if he isn't fully committed he's a risk. If he was absolutely mint maybe it's worth it, but he's still very much in the "good prospect" category. I'm sure if picked he'd try, but I wouldn't be bringing him on in a play off unless it's an absolute last resort

I think his new employers would rather their new £10m asset arrives fit for work on his first day, over rocking up injured.

Whether this move is best for his career remains to be seen.

If I'm head coach, I'd be questioning his mentality over someone busting a gut to play.

As I've also said, I can't imagine Brighton wanting him to play every game after his injury too, they'll want us to manage him, and will have no doubt said so in negotiations.

I guess we'll see in the remaining games what kind of head space he's in if he's included. There will be questions asked if he's picked and doesn't show the effort required, and the crowd will also let him know.

His new employers won’t give a toss about what he does the remainder of the season. They’ll just want him injury for the first day of pre season.
 
Great city Brighton, well it was between 1995-2005 when I left as it had become fully "Gentrified" and only the wealthy could afford to enjoy the place. them and the students. Everyone else was wage-slaves, or Homeless.

Should be nowhere near the first team. Mundle Aleskic and Le Fee are more than enough cover for the left. Fuck him.

Well, that was always going to happen when you make the news of him leaving public in April instead of the summer. Which is my mine gripe with this transfer.

Some will get on his back and others will question why Regis may still pick him over others, and if theyre right or wrong, the club have given them the floor to air those opinions now.

All I can think is it’s some kind of bargaining tool. The club announced an 8 million loss, we sell Watson for 10 million, we have no need to sell anymore players. It is a weird one, unheard of in the top 2 leagues. Many will have first it was an Aprils fool when first seeing it on X.

He looked no less interested than when he was playing against Stoke for example just looks really raw and hasn't played much senior football and has been injured
