They spent a fuckton mind we are doing the netto version of what they did. Don’t they owe the owner like £400m or something. It’s a myth this model thing mind the clubs people hang the model working on like Brighton Bournemouth spent a fuckton getting up and staying up and struck lucky and in brightons case had the fruit loop chealsea owner that’s pretty much gave them £250m for players and staff in the last 16 months.Brighton have a similar model to us just at a higher level, for all the criticism over lack of spending, no striker for 20 years etc we’ve done very well on recruitment and bringing young players through. Good few years behind them but shows it’s the way for clubs like ours to operate.
They spent a ‘fuckton’ because they initially bought cheap then sold for a ‘fuckton’ of profit. They spent a fuckton mind we are doing the netto version of what they did. Same lad who get these two totally wrong?£40k per week and £1mill signing on free is what my pal who works at academy reckons
Why would they have had so little choice?
Do the deal with Brighton, tell Watson he's on his way and it'll be made official in the summer. No drama. Is he moving to Brighton tomorrow?....nope.
I'm not bothered that he's going, it's a good price, but it's just been really poorly handed by putting it in the public. If folk can't see how it'll cause negatives until the end of the season, then there's no real point in trying to state the obvious to them.

Absolutely.
Watson doesn't look arsed. Aleksic looks very promising, surely gets some minutes in the coming games.
Great thorough postAgree, he hasn't looked right at all since the window shut. People were saying he's just back from injury etc and they're right, but every time he got the ball he seemed to be taking a shot when there were better options, just didn't look arsed.
Very surprised that he'd leave at this stage when he's not ready to be a regular in this league, never mind the league above. Jobe could probably say he's got little left to learn here but Rigg does, and Watson definitely does, but if he's determined to leave there's not much the club can do.
Agree with those saying we shouldn't play him again though. We can't be going into a play off with someone who knows they're gone and wants to avoid injury. The only time I'd give him any minutes is if we have a dead rubber league game and want to protect Mundle.
I won't really criticise the kid, albeit his decision is pretty strange for a supposed fan, given his development also seems to be well served here, but I think time will tell he's been badly advised, but we can't be giving him many minutes other than to rest players who actually want to be here
I personally think it’s Good business by the club. From BBC Sport.
Ex-Sunderland forward Martin Smith says he is disappointed in Tommy Watson's decision to leave but understands the pull of a club like Brighton.

Our fans don't realise that Brighton owe their owner £400mill if he decides to pack it all in.....the model..what a load of shite man. They spent a fuckton mind we are doing the netto version of what they did. Maybe it's the club showing the fans how much Watson wanted to leave , a so called fan who is so committed to our promotion push he's agreed a move before the summer window opens.
Ah but you’ll be told that is all on infrastructure and the stadium. Our fans don't realise that Brighton owe their owner £400mill if he decides to pack it all in.....the model..what a load of shite man.
I think someone did the digging awhile ago showing they’d spent a fair chunk getting there first. They’ve done the model thing after getting there and done it well, again Chelsea have helped it along big time £115m for one midfielder for example. I think what we are doing is good but it needs to bare fruit soon or we’ll be stuck on the treadmill of selling waiting a season or two as the young player progress then sell and rinse and repeat. Like I think if we fail come the end of this season we may need to replace five or six of this squad as they’ve hit the ceiling and will want to progress if the club do not. They spent a ‘fuckton’ because they initially bought cheap then sold for a ‘fuckton’ of profit.
I know that was being peddled as the crack with Rusyn like but no idea why this lad isn't getting any minutes at this point. Looks very talented and also looked bright the few times he's actually got on.He's not passed his GCSE innEnglish yet tho so can't play.

I can and players obviously do, they bring players in, give them a platform to perform and players know they don't stand in their way to move on. It's a nice part of the world and they are premier league, clearly paying premier league wages
If we sell the players heavily linked away this summer we are looking at £100m+ in transfer fees, that’s my kind of model!I think someone did the digging awhile ago showing they’d spent a fair chunk getting there first.
