Tommy Watson ( ...off to Brighton)

If we don't get him tied down to a longer deal he'll be worth a lot less than that soon.
While you're correct i suspect it wouldn't drop too much. They might be happy to gamble a few million to try and get promoted or even convince him to sign a new deal in the next few months.

We could also just see another higher bid come in tomorrow

Fair play but me a boy who sat in the stands (like Watson did) and has always dreamed of playing before Sunderland, I personally would need to fulfill that dream before moving on that would come before any premier league move for any amount of money. Obviously everyone is different, Dan Neil could have moved at a similar age to Watson but thought like myself. Plenty others have left who thought like you and I can’t think of many who it has worked out well for.
Yep, look at the last few who left, Hugill getting the consolation for the team bottom of the football league on Saturday

Not necessarily. If he doesn't sign a new deal and runs down his contract, but we turn down 10m+ bids and plays a starring role for 18 months here...that's all taken into account in a tribunal.

Well if he's currently on an U21 £1000 per week contract, something has to give with £12m offers flying about.

So apparently it's now £9m and £3m add ons rejected

Shows two things

1.how much of a piss take their summer bid was ; and

2. We will not have the piss taken on fees
It’s refreshing if you holdout on bids for all your players you will win more money then taking a bid first offer. I am sure data and age will help both buying players and keeping players and know when to sell them….if we go up this season our whole team goes up in value. Watch out PL this squad is young and growing which means a better chance of staying up in the PL.

I would say TW looks a better player than Clarke …..TW looks more powerful which is better suited for PL…thus if Clarke goes £15M that’s why I think TW worth more…TW also younger and can grow

This is exactly the point that is being continually missed.

Apparently he had to have his arm twisted to sign the contract he has now.

He obviously hasn't signed an extension to that and seems to have no intention in doing so.

In a few months time his contract will have 1 year remaining.
Those running the club have to be extremely mindful of that.

Turning down £12m for a lad with a handful of games and 18 months on his contract makes you wonder what the club value Rigg and Jobe at. Speakman

Or they have agreed a new deal with him after the window closes.

I'm sure the SAFC pendulum with be in full swing at 11pm tomorrow.
