Tommy Watson ( ...off to Brighton)

See for me a deal from a Premier League team, which wasn't just random rumours, I'd have my bags packed and ready. Whether I regretted that when I'm older - who knows, guess it depends where my career went to be honest. A chance to play in the top league in the world I just couldn't turn down, especially one who is generally successful with young players like Brighton. Can see the opposite argument aswell, of course.
Fair play but me a boy who sat in the stands (like Watson did) and has always dreamed of playing before Sunderland, I personally would need to fulfill that dream before moving on that would come before any premier league move for any amount of money. Obviously everyone is different, Dan Neil could have moved at a similar age to Watson but thought like myself. Plenty others have left who thought like you and I can’t think of many who it has worked out well for.

Aye but it’s mental these days.

You look at unbelievable players in the 70s, 80s and 90s who play 5-6 seasons for a smaller club and then get bought.

Just happens far quicker now.
It's a big shame if he goes so quickly. From what I've seen, I think he's better than Chris Rigg. I think he's gonna be one hell of a player.

I wonder if that Ian Harte guy has been turning his head. Apparently he goes out with Ian Hartes's daughter.

My worry if we don’t go up is Neil Cirkin and Watson due to contracts , Mepham loan ends, plus Jobe almost certainly plus maybe one of Trai, Ballard or Rigg.
Back to square one - with some cash after operating costs but half a good team to replace.
We should get 30m+ gir Neil & Jobe...New deal for Cirkin

Next season's starting 11 if we dont go up:

.............Patterson..........
Hume...O9...Ballard...Cirkin
Roberts.Rigg.Aleksic.Mundle
........Mayenda.....Isidor.....

Subs: Moore Seelt Hyelde Triantis
Browne Jones Poveda Ogunsuyi Muhammadi

5 or 6 signings including 2 or 3 loans we'll be ok

Yeah totally, see I actually agree with the Sunderland part but if I was a footballer, I'd love to end my career here. Have some of your best moments at your home club at the end rather than the start. Well unless we were a successful Premier Club of course.

£12m Brighton bid now turned down according to the Guardian sports writer
