Yeah I think you’re right, it is the sort of nostalgic cr@p he would come out with at 50 year old because it would be a nice story , however the reality is at 18 years old nostalgia isn’t in the vocabulary and it’s “ show me the money”.Being a lifelong Sunderland fan at 18 year old I would want to make my mark at my hometown club before moving on personally. Money will come and go but when your sat back in the stands at 50 year old I think it’s something you would regret not playing more then a handful of games! Also development wise he will get better first team opportunities here!
Seriously? Everyone in the 1st team squad will have known within 24hrs![]()
He’s just starting getting games in the first team for his hometown club. If it were me I’d love to be playing infront of my family and friends, and let’s be honest sooner or later The premier league will come for Sunderland, why the hell would you not want to stay at home and be apart of that especially at just 18.See for me a deal from a Premier League team, which wasn't just random rumours, I'd have my bags packed and ready. Whether I regretted that when I'm older - who knows, guess it depends where my career went to be honest. A chance to play in the top league in the world I just couldn't turn down, especially one who is generally successful with young players like Brighton. Can see the opposite argument aswell, of course.
Best thing to do is stay off here and don't watch the VERY tedious Transfer Show on Sky.I’m dreading tomorrow. The prospect of losing very talented players and being linked with every player in Europe with 99% of it being nonsense.

Do we know if he is a boyhood fan?Lad isn’t getting into any of those first teams anytime soon. Find it strange that a boyhood SAFC fan who at 18 has broken into the 1st team would be wanting to leave. Money talks.
Well he's from Horden and said he is.Do we know if he is a boyhood fan?
Watson has brothers in the academy aswell
We aren't selling half a team unless stupid money is being offered.I reckon he will stay til the summer
If we don’t get promoted I can see 4-5 players going then, unfortunately
Club should have the foresight to say no and realise if we can tie him to a new contract and give him another year or two, he’ll be worth much more than the figures being quoted. Perhaps suggests the club have offered Tommy a new deal which he’s rebuffed.
Don’t like how it seems the club drops its kegs anytime an offer of 10m comes in.
Power is with the players Keith , I could see it happening , certainly 2-3We aren't selling half a team unless stupid money is being offered.
I used to go to the match with his dad, so you'd imagine so!Do we know if he is a boyhood fan?
EasingtonWell he's from Horden and said he is.
I think it's a very similar situation to Dan Neil. Always been a fan and on the books too.
