Tommy Watson ( ...off to Brighton)

No I don’t know him. Why?

It's all hypothetical then. You're suggesting money should be the deciding factor, I'm suggesting it shouldn't. All this is doing is highlighting that you and I see the world differently, and clearly has no bearing whatsoever on what Watson has in his mind. We'll see what happens.

Aye, I'm pretty confident that at 18 years old I'd think I was better off with my family, mates, the area and a club that gives young players a game for a couple of years and then have a think about it. As it stands, he's not going to play in the top flight so what's he going to do.

To be fair to him, if his reported salary and the salaries of other players are correct, then I too would be looking for a pay rise. Not greedy though. Fair for a lad who has broke into the first team and looks like he has a promising future, but yet still 18 and only played a handful of matches. A balance somewhere.
That Ronaldo kid should never have signed for Man U at 18 year old, totally ruined him it did.

This could be a real test for the model, as we have 2 players pushing for 1 position with genuine talent and ambition and huge potential.

In theory, this is exactly what we need so that they give everything in training pushing each other to get the start, but in reality Regis likes a settled team and is more likely to go with Mundle and to sub Watson on for 15 minutes each game.

Watson will be very lucky to find a team who'll put him straight into the starting line up, so needs a reality check regarding his place in the pecking order, but..... he also needs a contract that befits his potential and matches his peers.

IF it comes to it and the offer is too good to refuse then sell with loan until end of season?

He is a local lad and would still give 100% while here.

Would rather keep him like and see him develop with us as this is another kid who is going to the top.

He isn't of the level I'd want to use one of remaining loans on to be honest.

If he was to leave I wouldn't really care about his development.

Man United had played his team and they saw enough to know he was going to be a top player. Can't put Watson in that bracket. You could also point to many a young player with promise who moved on and it went nowhere.

Sort of agree, fair play to our staff at the aol that’s brought through the best group we’ve had ever? (With regards to impact at the same time in the first team) and fair play to speaky he has brought in players like jobe/mundle etc that have many admirers. Long way from even the premier league days when we were giving players a last payday every window.

But if we sold and loaned him back we would have a few quid to strengthen elsewhere.

Hope it doesn't come to that anyway myself as he will probably be worth a lot more in the future but 20 mil is a lot of money to turn down.

Haway man a Horden lad is worth £80m 😆 having survived the numbered streets in his youth. (Nee idea if he is from around here 😂) riggy will be worth £30m plus imho same for jobe.
ATM Jobe is by far the most valuable player on our books, by at least £10m or so imo.

I get the logic and if that was all we could do I'd go for it but for me I feel like we could get someone in that is better today.

I wouldn’t sell any player until the summer. No time to rebuild in mid-season. If he wants to go, then can go then.
Same with Hume. We only have two fit full backs as it is.
Agree 100% the money will be there in the summer for sales, or we go up and we don’t need to sell anyone at all.

Aye we probably could, but if he were to be sold it would be nice to have the wedge, still have him here for the rest of the season and lets say for instance bring in a really good right winger that has goals in him as we are short there imo

I just looked at how Josh Robertson who left us for Brighton last year is doing and he’s barely even played for their u21s.

7 appearances, some off the bench, and never completed 90 minutes.

He might have been injured like.

The lad that started the rumour of Watson wanting to leave has hinted at Clarke coming back on loan.

Sell Watson (if he doesn't want to sign a new contract), bring Clarke in and then use the rest of the fee to bring in a right winger

Agree, I think that’s down to the name as well. I think rigg has just as many admirers. It’s gonna suck in the summer if we don’t go up this team is gonna be ripped apart ain’t it.
it may be and that will be very very sad. Looking on the brightside it may yield enough cash to buy a more experienced promotion winning side, then we're in the parachute mix. Might be necessary in the long run
