He is not going to be risking anything in the next few weeks with a multimillion pound contract on the table if true.

I know they are premier league and likely offering a very good contract but when a Sunderland lad wants to leave his boyhood club to better his career at Brighton it demonstrates the perceived lack of ambition at this club sadly.

I think that’s harsh personally. It’s football, and the gulf between the two divisions

As long as we spend the cash on players who are decent now , rather than in 12 months.

I don't tend to get attached to players these days, because truth is unless you are man city or even liverpool there's a real madrid or someone else, would will come along swoop in and sign your best.
