Tommy Watson ( ...off to Brighton)

Still think he will go. No reason for him not to be down there really as he’s injured anyway. Will depend on us finding a replacement or then offering so much we think it’s worth going without one.

If he stays, we have to hope the things we’ve heard about him being happy but willing to go if it comes off are true. We really don’t want a disgruntled player around the squad if he’s desperate to go and we block it.
Looks like Adringa was the replacement, that now looks off so the deal has collapsed.

Well he's in Brighton right now without a bid being accepted so yeah 🤣
If it was him at Newcastle station as claimed earlier (which I’ve nivver believed) then he’s probably just left Elephant and Castle on the Thameslink reet now. Provided he nivver popped into St Pancras Wetherspoons for a swift one.

Some naive fans aren't there
Ridiculous! He's on nothing here in football terms. Gives him a great position in negotiation terms. Then if club do accept a bid then it's up to what the lad wants to do. No one knows what the kid is thinking. Some people on here think they do though😂😂😂😂😂

Definitely, and I think I'd have said fairs fair if Adingra signed for us but if that's not a go'er I don't see how this benefits us on deadline day with little time to source a replacement.
Get Tommy signed on a 4 year contract and we will see a lot higher bids than that for him down the line.
Bang on. Footballers are paid to do a job, and we have no idea if he asked or wanted to leave either, so he'll get my full support upon his return to the first team.

Flew down today. Wasn't by train

Its only good if he signs a new contract, otherwise we'll get naff all for him...
Depends if he gets his head down and plays like he did before his injury.

If he does I think we’ll get about the same for him in the summer as there’ll likely be several clubs interested.

You’d like to think the club will now give him a contract that reflects he is (in their eyes) a player with a £15m value. Get the kid tied down.

Your going to be heartbroken when he signs for 17m in a few hours 🤣

Hopefully Watson comes out of this in a good place once he gets himself fit again.

If club have been trying to force him out then he's not going to be very motivated.

If it was him wanting out then not sure where that puts him mentally.

Well... you would, like...

It's difficult to imagine for most on here, but the truth of the matter will most likely be a mixture of several scenarios, at less extremes than posted. He may have wanted to stay ... on a comparable contract to that being offered by Brighton. That wouldn't happen, so he'll take the money being guaranteed etc.

It's just football commerce, it'll happen again, and if we get back up we'll likely be in the Brighton role in future.
Agree with you.
