Tom Cannon bid in - now signed for Sheff U.

If the model is to sell Clarke and then bring Isidor in on loan as the coveted central striker and then leaving us with Mundle as the only replacement for Clarke, I think it’s absolute horse shit.

Big 24 hours tomorrow and they had better have been working on some permanent signings that justify selling our best player.
We’re top man with a future full England midfield so please don’t worry about it.

It f***ing stinks

NodL doubt they won’t be arsed about our best players funds disappearing and never be seen again aswell

Are we not best off leaving the meltdowns for after the window? I agree that we desperately need a striker, but it hasn’t slammed shut yet

It’s fair enough. Just a big concern the 3 we’ve been linked to have all fallen away inside 12 hours.

Hope I’m wrong and we get 3 good signings tomorrow, as I think we’d have a good go at playoffs or even better.

You’d forgive them, as you say, if it was reinvested and a plan was in place.

Coventry sold their two best players for massive money but have had a massive go of things and built one of the better squads outside of the parachute clubs.

Clarke was always going to leave but they seem to have sold him with the season underway for the same price as if they sold him at the conclusion of last.

The club, as it stands, need to replace 20 goals and assists, a very heavy burden on both Mundle and Mayenda (maybe five career goals between them) and Wilson.

The midfielder from France comes with an impressive pedigree and we need a defensive midfielder, so I will give them that. The Serbian lad will probably be earmarked to replace Rigg / Jobe.

Hopefully they surprise us tomorrow but it’s all feeling very, very familiar.
Its really frustrating after the start we've had and the feel good factor being back. It never lasts more than a few weeks snd its torpedoed again.

Who's the french lad and the Serb ? Have we actually signed them ?

We need another forward in the door if we want to get promoted this season - absolutely. But I also think Rusyn deserves a chance under Les Bris - perhaps as a winger or as a second striker in a 442. Hemir isn't even close... still. u21s or loan until he can prove himself, but I'm not holding my breath.
A CF and a CM and we have a much better balanced squad.

Problem is they won't pay the wages a 5-7m striker wants.
This is probably the truth of the matter on why we have missed out on so many in recent windows. We just have to grow the wage structure more - and it'll be this that might hold us back from promotion this season.

Model stalls if they don’t increase budgets when they make a sale.

Otherwise we’re just shopping in the same levels hoping for a miracle.

So let me get this straight

This window we’ve brought in a keeper who’ll never play & a Striker on loan.

We’ve got rid of a keeper who never played and sold the best player in the league for well under market value.

We’ve not replaced the winger, we needed 2 strikers anyway, we’ve got no decent back up centre halves, we’ve got 4 midfielders for 3 positions with Ekwah leaving.

If we don’t make 4 or 5 signings tomorrow we’re a couple of injuries away from a relegation battle.
That's an exaggeration really and ignores the possibility that our young players have improved (hint: they have) AND the idea that Les Bris will be an improvement over Beale/Dodds.

This massively. Selling Clarke is shit, selling him cheap is shit, but if we got in 2 good strikers and improved as a whole I can see the logic.

If the 2 midfielders are the best we come up with then the model will be absolutely finished in alot of fans eyes.

Are we selling our best players to improve and grow, or to cover the losses for KLD?

This question will fairly definitively be answered by the end of tomorrow. If we bring another loanee in or no-one at all, it’ll be fairly clear what the purpose is.

Let’s hope they do reinvest and we end up with a stronger and more balanced squad than we had at the start of the window with Clarke still in it.

It’s not. We currently have 2 fit centre backs. If one gets injured, we’re playing Triantis, Anderson or Hjelde who are f***ing awful.

They literally sold the model that way. When we start making big sales we start making bigger purchases.

They’re full of shite. This money will disappear into running costs.

We weren’t getting the shiny new spotlights and speakers for fuck all either

Serious question how can’t we compete with clubs in this league for players. I get the model but if we don’t lift our wage cap and spend a little (after selling our best player) we're never gonna sign the better players. Float around mid table in the championship year in year out like Preston.

Hint: we’ve only played three games and we got off to a fairly sound start last season too. A season doesn’t go from August to October.

We had a competent manager at the start of last campaign but once injuries kicked in, fixtures come along during midweek, a couple of players lose confidence etc you need a robust, tough and able squad to maintain it. At present, we don’t have that. That doesn’t mean we haven’t had a good start or able coach by the way.
