Today’s trouble at the match

I've already stopped taking mine (to away games). In the Premier League days I would happily take a young child all over the north of England. I would certainly have gone there yesterday with my two sons, but it just feels like a proportion of the people who go (impossible to say what that proportion is I guess) are just wankers, not remotely interested in football, and spoil it for everyone else.
Is this news or something new?

I wouldnt argue, but not WW3 like some are suggesting! "Few punches" is nothing though. My god go out in Newcastle on a Saturday night. Pleased its been cleared up mate. Neither nowt nor summat
A few punches being hoyed isn't the issue, its helmets setting off smoke bombs on the concourse and having all the bars and catering shut down. I was clamming for a pint as well after that shite.

Not sure it’s what’s causing the hassle but there is some amount of sniff getting done at our away games like.

I don’t think cocaine is the problem.

Explain the 70s,80s and 90s even the 00s

Really all down to being in lockdown for so long had a lot to play in it all.

It’s been a part of football for years and it’s just had a tiny spike that’s all.

It just seems like it is getting worse. I would go to plenty away games in the north of England when we were in the Premier League, wearing colours, with a then young son, not remotely concerned. There just seems to have been far more incidents this year in particular, not just at our club. The last home game I was sitting in the car park and saw a bloke knocked out cold by a Portsmouth fan, covered in blood when he finally came around. This was literally in front of the turnstiles. It was ages until police even came to have a look. It's years since I've seen anything like that. I wouldn't fancy taking my sons to an away game now tbh.

Hank, its life mate. Not just football. I go out on works dos and everyone is on it. Some on here seem to just want to slag our fans off for any reason when the facts are its life, not football

Premier league is policed mentally though that’s the difference if they could get away with it they would Look at Manchester United vs Leeds that was silly recently. But all over the place.

There might be a correlation between indiscriminate football violence and liars and cheats in the higher echelons of the political world.

Honestly you are been a complete tart.

I took my 9 year old nephew yesterday. He loved it, never seen any "trouble" at all.

So we have c32k at an event and you see 1 person covered in blood, and its years since you seen owt like that!! So 31,999 people were fine but cause of 1 person you wont go. My god

So we can actually clear up.
There was no trouble yesterday. Lets break it down.

Plenty of verbal abuse, objects thrown, whilst not nice to see, its not trouble!
Stone Island kids dancing with the police, again not nice, but if you ever went to Ayresome Park you'd know trouble!!
What else, reducing our allocation because of drugs??!! Ha. Welcome to the real world, this goes on every weekend in every town, city in the country and the world, again not nice to see but its part of life now. Nothing to do with allocations, its life.

Owt else or can we end the thread now.....

You’re trying to compare apples and pears mate. I went to Ayresome on numerous occasions (including the testimonial when fans were fighting on the pitch) but it was a different era. I’ve also been away with England and witnessed stuff that makes Ayresome like a walk in the park 😂

Things have moved on a lot in the last 30 years and the reality is; the police/authorities just won’t accept anti social behaviour - and nor should they.

No one wants a totally sanitised football atmosphere but chucking coins and bottles isn’t acceptable - especially now as more families go.

I get all that mate, but the throwing of objects is certainly not WW3 as some wet lettuces and here would have you think, I also have been home and away with England, and yesterday was nothing at all
